Americana, Fireman Dave, fest3er,
The wheels are now in the Cincinnati area. I picked them up yesterday afternoon. You all have my phone number and e-mail address, I think. I'll send an e-mail to make sure.
Thanks to SmokinRam and his partner, Doug, for the offer to help pick them up. As it turns out, I was able to get them myself directly from Brad. Also thanks to GTX, cumminsgetme, Kev, K_Arts, and all others who offered to help. As it now stands, It looks like fest3er will take them from me, and Fireman Dave will be carrying them the rest of the way to California. If something happens and we need more help, someone will post something.
The wheels and tires look fine, by the way, with the Michelins and the simulators (wheel covers) on them. I was tempted to mount them on the truck and try them on the drive from Pittsburgh to Cincinnati, but I resisted. I have my own set of wheels, minus tires, sitting in the garage. They will be getting tires mounted in June at Rickson. Then I can enjoy mine too.
One final note: Robert, the TDR magazine publisher, doesn't print items in his magazine that present just the negative side of a story. His philosophy is that there are always two sides, and without hearing both viewpoints he is reluctant to provide a forum for just one half of the dispute. I met Brad when I got the wheels and I'll just say that there are also two sides to this story. I'm not going to get in the middle of a dispute, because I haven't heard the whole story either. (Nor do I want to. ) I'm happy to help out with getting the wheels to americana, but I don't think that Brad is the evil shyster he is presented as here.
