Help buying a 1st Gen.

Assuming that the truck is as rust-free as it looks in the pictures, this is a good deal at $3k. Almost TOO good.

Do you think they really found something wrong with that truck, or just found out how much that truck was really worth??? You didn't happen to mention the TDR website to them, did you?

Thats a shame, that was a sweet looking rig. Just can't trust the dealer.

I don't know what happened because of the double talk. They did the safety inspection and told him the front suspension needed work and that they would sell it to him. When I asked them yesterday they said the front suspension was shot and the turbo needed work

The weird part is that I found out through another contact that the truck was still on the back lot the day before with a hold tag on it. I think thay may have gotten more money for it.

That IS a crappy deal. Wasnt Christopher's Dodge World, was it? They dinked me around 3 or 4 years ago (I was 20 or 21 at the time; looking at a 96-ish dually), mostly because I was a kid, I guess, so when they called with a sweet sounding deal, I told them where to go, how to get there, and what they could do with themselves while they waited for me. Dealers like that need to be turned in to the Better Business Bureau, esp since it was a wire transfer from 2 states away. But they DID return his money which kinda surprises me. Sneaky, they can be.

Looks like a great deal even if it needs work. I paid more for a standard cab 2x2 with a beat body. The blue smoke concerns me a little. Mine puffs a short burst of black when I first start it and goes away immediately. Sounds to me like maybe the turbo seal is leaking and dripping oil into your intake???????

3k that truck around hear would be at least double that buy it now, ofcourse after you checked for a certain oil leak on the front cover.
