Ran across this picture on my computer a few days ago and thought I would post it again. Still can't believe I had the critter making a nest in there. This truck was driven daily and did not sit.

Be glad the tree huggers didn't see this. You wouldn't have been allowed to touch your truck until the babies left the nest! Mark

Yep, algore and the environmental wackos might go to federal court seeking an injunction to prohibit you from starting your truck ever again until several generations of nuisance critters have moved on.

I can see it now! " MANDATORY WILDLIFE SCREENS REQUIRED ON ALL DIESEL EXHAUST PIPES EQUIPPED WITH DPF SYSTEMS. SCREEN MESH SHALL BE NO LARGER THAN BLAH, BLAH BLAH!"

When I lived in Alabama, at the certain time of year when it was nesting time, birds would try to nest everywhere. A favorite spot was the paper tube under my mailbox. Clean it out, birds would often be back within half an hour. Make the mistake of forgetting about them and go out to fetch the mail, all hell broke loose as I walked up to the mailbox. It was like Pearl Harbor all over again.

My truck DID sit a lot, and wasps entered the drivers front wheel well and built a nest in the drivers side battery box. That was an interesting experience when I unknowingly popped the hood. But that's a story for another time...

Trained birds?

Thats how you guys keep your Exhaust pipes clean. Your probably over run with BLACK birds. :-laf :-laf

I wonder if the little guy is really a diesel head - good thing he doesn't have apposable thumbs or you may have gotten car jacked!

Wow thats a clean tailpipe for an 06. My tail pipe is that clean after the truck is detailed and by the time I drive 5 miles home, its darker than coals

This was the tail pipe on my 01 when I lived in Alabama. My wife and I were drinking coffee watching this bird fly in and out of my tail pipe. It was taken right after the truck was detailed. But that got me thinking since the 6. 7s don't emit any soot they must be having the same problem. After a couple weeks I had 6 partially completed nests around where I park.
