Will you let your insurance company ride in your vehicle?

Which July 4th will you watch?

Here is the window sheet from when these folks bought it as a “Certfied Pre-Owned” at a Florida Caddy dealer in 2008.

80......give that car a little break on your first ride together. Thats like yelling fire in an old folks home........there's going to be a soggy mess somewhere if you make them run that fast.

On the job here is a “frugal” Jewish fella- great guy, has a few strange old cars, nice guy. Thing is, his preferred hoopty is a Chevy Malibu Maxx- you know- that Dodge Lancer looking hatchback they made a few of? Well he has a “couple” of those. Seems that he’s stockpiling them. Mike, please don’t be like the Jewish fella. His name is mike too!
Good luck with H2!

12.9 volts @ 2000 rpm?

Perfectly normal. The GM BCM cuts the rate of charge back when the battery is satisfied. The other DTS and my Yukon do the same thing.

The HID headlights and LED tail, marker and dash lights draw a lot less than conventional bulb set ups so normal for the voltage to drop back even after dark.

The only thing that will make it run 14 volts other than after a start is using the rear window defogger....

I believe that the batteries last far longer that way...

Seth (my son) took me down after work last night to pick up the car....asks me "Does it come with a free AARP Membership??"

What a little s**t.....:):)

Makes me proud!!!

You have hope as long as you are not walking around in those cloth shorts with the stretchy waistband, the belt to match, polo shirt tucked in, and black socks pulled up to your knees.

Glad to hear it is normal. I would have thought the lowest non draining voltage would be 13.2, but have never given it much thought before.

Learn how to chortle. Then do so every time he receives an AARP mailing before he reaches 55.

No, it all about CAFE and squeezing the last 1/10 of a MPG out of it. Battery satisfied - no. It takes a long time to get the last little bit of charge in a battery to top it off and prevent sulfation. GM is treating a starting battery like a deep cycle battery. Further there still isn't a battery temp sensor on the GM stuff. More batteries die from chronic state of undercharge and sulfation than any other reason.

Cadillac's are known to drain batteries esp. from the OnStar. May be a TSB out there to disable OnStar etc. if you let it sit over a week at a time.
