Help me on searching....

OK - I don't get the search feature... .



For example - I wanted to get some stuff on replacing steering box



Well I get soup to nuts - some steering stuff BUT Turbo all sorts of stuff that has nothing to do with the subject... ... I tried adding the and between the words and no fifference - the same list of unrelated crap! What am I doing wrong????

One thing I find that helps a ton is after plugging in the key words is to change the box just below it to titles only, and then if you can pick a forum to search that matches.



I tried "replacing steering box", checked off titles only and then to look in the 24V no engine or transmission forum only and got this:

Good hints Matt... . Steve - the data you had is what I tried originally - and obviously I needed some additional training... ... .

Read over it again and really look at the examples. If I were searching for what you were looking for I would have entered:

+replacing +steering +box

in the search terms and then changed it to show results as posts. That would return all of the individual posts that had all three of those words in it. If you searched on "replacing steering box" and had it on show results as threads it would return any thread that had any of those three words in any post in that thread. I explain those things in the above help with examples.



I do also explain the difference between searching by title only or not.

A feature that I use a lot is "Show Results as" Posts instead of Threads.
