I have a 2001 Dodge Ram (see signature below for specifics) that I am having the following problems with since 50k miles (currently 118k):
engine smokes black on acceleration resulting 10. 3 mpg loaded
transmission hard shifting, noisy, now light vibration
launch shutter
US Gear Exhaust brake that doesn't engage anymore
To date I have had the following repaired/replaced by dealer and on my own in frustration took truck to Cummins, had it dyno'd, they said it is running within specs and putting 205 hp to the ground:
Never a Compression Test ... but have had the following,
Numerous flashings on computer
New Turbo
New Injectors
New Injector Pump
New Fuel Pump
New Transfer Pump
New Engine Sensor at differential (replaced 3 times) thru code
New Cam and Crank Sensors
Clutch and transmission checked, everything o. k.
Serviced regularly
U-joints and carrier bearing checked o. k.
Differential serviced regularly, dealer says o. k.
Exhaust brake at repair shop, 12 hours and still couldn't find problem
Tired of the professional amateur. I need the professional that knows not only the Cummins motor, but the complete truck. I've had the opinions, had the work done, and the results are the same. Please, I just need someone that knows what they are doing to repair my truck. Have looked through the Travel Companion and haven't found what I am looking for. Please respond with a way that I can get in touch with you if you feel that you can repair my truck.
Thanks in advance for your help.
