install went well, I don't see ANY changes.....

PMcCall... IF you dont mind checking a few things for me I would GREATLY appreciate it.
1- was the box for HEATED STEERING wheel checked before the update? if not, can you check it now, let it sit for 15-30 seconds and see if it un-checks itself.
2- do the seats come on automatically on startup, whether its cooling or heat. I assume in MD yours should be coming on HEAT on startup.
3- does the steering wheel come on @ startup?
4- IF you had previously stored text messages in the 8.4AN, can you delete them?
5- can you change the type of trailer configuration (for the integrated brake controller) or assign a new trailer?

Hi Wingate

1. I never had an issue with the box being checked. I played with it this morning and could not get it to uncheck. when you check it, it stays checked.
2. my seats come on with heat when its below 40ish along with the steering wheel heat (not sure of the exact temp). They do not come on if I had them on when I shut the truck off if its above 40 or so. This seems to be a change from previous versions of the software, its now temp dependent. The cooling/vent seats would come back on at the next next start up if they were on when I turned the truck off, but only on hi, even if you had them on lo, they come up on high. I havent rechecked this yet since I went to the new revision of software as its been colder and I havent used them in a few weeks. I will try this tonight.
4. For texts, they seem to refresh each time the blue tooth connection refreshes (start up etc). Im not sure if you mean texts from other folks or the stored reply messages? I havent used the stored reply messages, if thats what you meant I will check that and see.
5. I didnt see any issue with the trailer module. I can add and modify.

wow, I wish I had your truck!

I truly believe I have issues with the truck. sometimes the screen will just change like a button got pushed, but theres nobody else in the truck and I KNOW i didnt do it! I leave the HVAC on 72 degrees and set to AUTO, but sometimes when I start it the temperature will be set to LO and the AUTO will still be illuminated??? So I end up with the air conditioning on when I want HEAT!

I posted earlier that my setup was working as advertised. Now that it has been cold every day for the last 2 weeks i have been watching this. It does not automatically switch to the high setting, it defaults to the LO setting. I have to manually select the HI setting. It works as per the operator's manual, but I would prefer that it went straight to the HI setting.

yeah I think there is something going on with the seat HVAC controls being consistent in the software. One engineer I spoke with directly said its suppose to be completely temperature controlled with the newest software. Testing this theory, I have documented different times/temperatures/conditions and how the seat HVAC responded and its not consistent. I have isolated to using only one key fob, all settings are saved to the seat and key fob. One morning I remote started the truck in 35 degree temps and the drives seat/steering came on high, no passenger seat. The very next morning same key fob, same conditions but temperature was even colder in the 20's.. and nothing came on with remote start.
I have reported all this documentation to the engineer Ive been in contact with along with when I parked the truck in the Texas sun in August and the seat HVAC did not come on @ startup. Then the next time I started it coming on LO.
They admit there are still issues with the software, especially on the highly equipped Laramies/Longhorns...
I have also asked about other reports of similar complaints from other owners/dealerships... and there are.

So I was looking to see what my truck does. This morning the temperature was about 38 F and last night the low was 27 F, I remote started my truck and the steering wheel was on and the drivers seat was on on high when I got in about 5 minutes later. When I pressed the start button, everything stayed that way. I also do have the check in my auto on comfort setting block. My software revision is 14.25.4. Ken Irwin

wish mine did! Ran into an older gentleman at the fuel station, he asked me if I had figured out how to use the "!@*#&$^@#%!@*&#* radio" as he so elequently put it.. I just started laughing and politely informed him that I was probably NOT the person to talk UCONNECT with.. I didnt elaborate, but Im sure he got the point that I was NOT happy with my truck.

My wife tried but could not turn on her (the passengers) side until I actually got in and pressed the start button. I was delayed a few minutes. She wan't happy with me when I got in.

Note to self: trip goes better with happy wife.

yeah once upon a time I couuld program my 8.4AN to have not only MY seat, but the PASSENGER seat come on to my desired level.....
The automatic temperature controlled stuff just does not work in the real world...

Wingate, Nothing new on a possible fix?? You seem to have the best intel..Now thats its cold, kinda wished I hadn't install that new version.

Due to circumstances, I cannot comment at the moment. Should be able to elaborate in 10-14 days.

I have had a couple of updates on mine, but originally we set it up at Dave Smith to have the heated seat (drivers side anyway), come on and also heated steering wheel come on when I used remote start. And I think it has to be below a certain temp as well. Not sure about that, but anyway when I remote start the heated seats come on and the heated steering wheel too. Man, I would have never even used those features when I was young, but I have to say it's nice at my age (60). Anyway, I feel like the seat ventilators are running at the same time. Just on low but it sure feels cold under the seat and there is air moving. The indicator light on the button is off, but it just feels wrong. I can be red hot from the waist up and the back of my legs are freezing. I think there is something haywire.

try running the HVAC on AUTO... mine appears to oscillate between the various vents.... maybe that will push air under the seat for you?
