I just got a reman. VP44 (IPVR-44/17X) on Monday and want to get the truck running , and was scoping it out real close before I go and install it and noticed the keyway on the reman pump is an 030 (the old one a 028). The reman pump has numbers stamped on the top boss area close to the front that are 036. Whats the deal here?I read in the FSM that the keyway MUST mach the numbers on the pump. Do I disregard this and just put it in? These stamped in numbers are not in the same location as the ones on the bad pump.
This reman pump just has a small plate with serial number and model of pump with BOSCH on it and thats it. The question here is do I or don't I have the correct keyway for this pump. I hear that the pumps are updated with new parts and some electronics, Yes? So maybe someone can shed some light on this cause I shure as heck don't want to have it all back together and then throw codes again and run like crap.
Have any others encountered this same thing?
Help, want to get it back together soon, I will call this morning to the place I bought it from to see if there is anyone that knows the answer to this.
