I like them so far. Road manners are very good and during the little off roading I've done they've been good. The price was great... got them on a buy 3 get the 4th one free deal. I checked on the way home and it looks like I'm running around 2200 RPM at 70.

hey Vanman,
Where did you get your tires? I found a place on here (the net) and i think they are pretty fair, but they said they would beat any price. they are asking 156$ for the at and 180$ for the m/t's? so you tell me your price, and where you got them, and well, you could save me money. HMMMM thanks for the input, i am getting a set soon, what wheels are you running?

There's a post here somewhere advertising the special I got. It was an internet company that was giving a "4 for the price of 3" deal. The price you quoted sounds pretty close to the normal price they were offering because it came to just under 500 bucks for all four (including shipping and with the special deal). I'll see if I can find my invoice when I go home and let you know.

Daniel Burley, I am running 285/75R16 Kelly Safari AWR's w/ 3. 55 gears. I am running just over 1800 rpm at about 71-72 on the speedo. According to a DC rep, the tires are about a 4 percent difference in odometer reading, according to his laptop he had hooked up to the truck, compared to the stock 265's. So he said add 4 percent to the odometer for milage. best I have gotten so far was 18 mpg on a steady run from Detroit to the Mackinac Bridge at the above listed speeds. Hope it helps. . How do you like the 315 BFG's? I have been considering new tires in either 295 or 315's.

Daniel.
Thanks for the info, What seems tobe the sweet range for the rpm's. Mine seems to like 1800-1900, but I was told by a Cummins rep that they like 2200, I'm ConFuSed.

Hey lawdog,
I have mixed emotions on the 315's while they look nice but they almost look too big for the fenderwells. I have a 2in front lift kit, i still had to cut my inner fenderwells a little bit. With 3. 55 that you have you dont want 315's as they change make spedo off 9% and your rpm's would not be in the sweet range for a 24v i am going back to 295's this week

do you guys run the 305,s or the 315,s at stock height ? If not how much lift is needed on a Y2K ?

Thanks ... ... John

Daniel,
Thanks for the info. I just got the 2 inch front leveling pucks from Daystar today. Traded a 3" ranch 1/2 ton kit I got for free, just to take it out of a friends truck so it could go back. . lease up. anyways sounds like the 295's may be the way to go, unless I change gears #ad
. But I dont know how much money I want to sink into the truck until I see a 2002 1/2 ton 4 door, to see if I will be ordering the 2003 3/4 ton diesel. What milage were you pulling at 2200 rpm's?

Daniel, I'm running the 285's on the stock rims on my y2k. Lifted the front 2" with the skyjacker kit. Left the rear stock. Tried the 315's for about a week of freeway running and found them to be way to tall for the 3. 54. Had to use first gear to start out everytime. 4. 10s would be a good compromise. Also, when the front is lifted, if you don't use a new longer panhard rod your axle shifts under the truck to the right so the larger tires (33's on up) will rub on the driver side. good luck...

lawdog, although 1800-1900 seems to be sweet, the 24v is most efficient at 21-2200 according to many experts that i have talked to. I bought my truck w/3. 55's as that was the truck that i found that had all the other options that i wanted and i couldn't wait another second(my first cummins was a 89 and i wanted a new one since 95) i had my gears ghanged to 4. 10 and i love it. gained apx 300 rpm's and a lot of power/torque that was the best $1400 that i spent on this truck(ok i lied DTT trans goodies was also the best $'s spent, Sorry Bill)
Pres10 if you stay with the stock wheels you should be able to run 305's definatly 295's (i did for a while) but 315's will rub on turns with bumps. i contacted Rancho about a 2inch lift and they said that they needed a truck to verify any changes needles to say i volunteered my truck for a week and got it back with a 2inch lift double shocked with rs9000 adjustable shocks front and rear (no change to the rear ht) and a steering stabilizer ( if pays to inquire!!!) they also gave me a incab shock adjuster system although i had to have installed myself (soon i hope)If you go with aftermarket wheels you must do a lot of research to get the proper backspacing to avoid rubbing hope this helps
