I used to have a 2nd gen 1999 3500. I traded for a 2003 2500, then

I started camping. First a class C, the 3 different class A's. I recently

purchased a "new to me" 2006 2500 Mega cab! I know I will enjoy

it, and I am looking to purchase a 5th wheel, (my original "dream").

I have one question, on my 2006 I have the 6 disc radio with sirius

option. I have looked thru the manual but I can not find how to get

the EFN number so I can activate my Sirius subscription! I called

sirius and gave them the vin, could not locate the radio, they told me

to "tune" to channel 0, which gave me the phone number for sirius!?

Can anyone help me? Thanks in advance

Sirius can pull up the head unit ESN based on VIN in their own records if they're knowledgeable and want to make a sale. I bought a used VW TDI a few months ago with an inactivated Sirius radio. I called Sirius and asked to activate the radio and provided the VIN. The phone clerk said I'd have to provide the ESN. I thanked him, hung up, and called back. The second phone clerk knew how to pull up the ESN from their own records and activated my free Sirius trial subscription within minutes.

I just hoped someone would help. First I did check the "owners manual" which referred me to "the navigation handbook". I do not have a nav system, but I do have a sirius ready radio! I did call Sirius and gave them the VIN, twice they could not find it!! I wasd just hoping

someone had done this before me, and could help out!!! I am not an idiot!, Check the manual is a stock answer from someone who does not care to lift a finger, so much for applying to this web site!!!!!!!!!!

Ralph,

Call them back again and politely insist that someone dig a little deeper to help you. If that doesn't work insist on speaking with a supervisor. They do have access to some computer file that will provide an ESN for a VIN.

Welcome. Don't let one post ruin your experience.

Case Number: S1108000204
Release Date: 11/08/2011
Vehicle Issue:
Locating ESN Numbers For, Jeep, Chrysler, Or Dodge Radios
Diagnosis:
When subscribing to Satellite Radio an ESN (electronic security number) is required. This security
number is required to link the owner's subscription to the radio. Each radio has a different button
sequence to obtain these numbers.
See http://www.siriusxm.com/help/findsirius
Radios inside Jeeps, Chryslers, and Dodges are identified by a three digit code found on the bottom
right or left corner of the radio (shown below in the red circle). Find your code and then follow the
instructions below. Be sure to have your ignition and radio on or off depending on your model.

REF (ignition on/radio off)
Hold the TAPE SELECT and TIME buttons simultaneously for three seconds. Press the SEEK UP
button until all the digits are displayed.
RAK, REQ (ignition on/radio off)
Hold the CD EJECT and TIME buttons simultaneously for three seconds and the Radio ID will
display.
REC (ignition on/radio off)
Hold the SET/RND and LOAD/EJECT buttons simultaneously and the Radio ID will display.

By the way, this info is also on page 224-225 of the owner's manual.
