Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) advice on turbo upgrade??

i just installed my mach 4 injectors and the egts are highand thats with no load. i talked to a few diff people and got mixed responses so i wanna throw it out here and see what evryone thinks. . i thought about the snow performance but to me seems like a band aid. my other route is the upgrad for my turbo and make it into twins. The only thing keeping me from that is knowing whats involved in the install, so if anyone has done it and has any advice id really appreciate it. Its tuff to make choices when you cant actually see it installed in person . Im open to all suggestions and comments thank you.....

how high are EGTs? is the brake fully open? is your edge a comp, and if so ,what setting? sorry for the Q's but need to know to help.

dont appoligize... my edge is an adjustable box its on 1x1 rite now or forget it lol. . the brake is operating and i assome its opening all the way. . just a quick push and i hit 1400 so im just a lil confused as to what to go with and try... ... thanks

Is that a quick push to wide open throttle? If you're just spiking the gauge at WOT, that's not too bad.
What injectors were you running before the Mach 4s, and what was the EGT response like?
Do you tow?
I would expect that the BD Super B is a pretty good fit for daily driving. You could call BD Power and ask their professional opinion. I'm sure they'll have something to sell you. You can go big on the turbo and trade max EGTs for a lag pig. Where do you want the balance? Maybe a slight upgrade would suit. Be honest with yourself about your driving style. I'm sure twins would be great if you want to drop 5 grand into it.

i had the stock injectors before that with the bd and i was at a 1000 if i stood on it in setting 5x5 on the comp but the 1400 is barely into it. yes I do tow. i talked to BD and they recommended the upgrade to twins but i want opinions before i lay outt the cash for that

i do tow alot . well maybe ill take that back not band daid just that if you dont have the tank full the system is useless im so confused rite now i wish i never did the injectors .

if you stay in it do the temps go any higher or does it level out? I've buried my egt gauge at 1600 degrees but I only have an hx 35 at the moment but that was on 3x5 on the comp.

what kind of boost are you at @ 1400? if the headgasket/studs isnt done twins wont help. but you can often run just under 50psi without trouble.

them temps will go up if i stay on it... prob 5psi or under 2 1400 . Are you saying that the twins wont cure the problem???

your problem seems to be a lack of boost pressure. is everything sealed tight? if you've got rpms over 1800 you should have sufficient drive pressure to hit 40+lbs! if you cant drive a single ,then no, twins wont help.

noseeum what are you seeing for temps... i dunno what to check for truck spools up fine i think its too much fuel from the injectors... .

When I ran the BD super B turbo with BD 90 hp injectors I had the same problem with high egts as you are having. I upgraded to a silver 62 from II and the egts are well under control and I have Bd 155 hp injectors now too but have a more lag.

So its def the injectors then dumping too much fuel. If twins arent the answer i need a turbo that will lower egts and is good for towing... because todays project is remove the injectors#@$%!. until i come up w a solution i have no other choice any one want a sent of mach 4s:-laf

so my turbo w the twin upgrade will fix the egt issue is what your saying. @ 1800 rpm i have like maybe 5psi of boost if i push my foot into it :-laf i build boost fast its just the egts skyrocket and thats on 1x1 so thats why i need to fig if theres a diff single or to upgrade the bd to the twin kit but i dnt wanna start opening a can of worms.....

well, to lower EGT's, you need more air... or a cleaner burning injector...

more air, especially while towing, can be had by using a set of twins with a slightly smaller turbo (earlier spooling) turbo than what you've got now
