I recall seeing it in the Cummins instructions when we were doing a few in the plant, and I'm assuming those were put into the dealer instructions as well.

Have you had a chance to take it back in? Pump timing was going to be my guess as well - they might have timed the pump, but not the engine to TDC prior to installing the new pump. The 3-rotor pump needs to match the firing of the engine.

Your '14 would have been timed from the factory...every 6.7L has been so.

I haven't yet. Haven't driven it since I got it back!

My dealer tells me that their only getting one pump per week. Got a call last Tuesday from my service manager at the dealership, he had someone that couldn't make it in, so he tells me that if I'm there first thing, he could get my pump installed. Got there before they opened, they started on it at 07:15 and by 12:00 it was done. Had an hour drive back home and she purred like a kitten.
Hope we don't have anymore recalls.

I'm wondering why I've been notified twice now to bring my truck in for the pump recall and then once they punch information into their computer they get this notification? This has inconvenienced me twice now having to get a rental truck. First dealer who had it said drop it off and it'll be ready in 1-2 days. On the second day (a Tuesday) they said we'll need it to sit here until next week. Went and got my truck back as they said they'd keep it in queue. Inquired at another dealer and they said bring it in and we'll have it done in 4-6 hrs. Meanwhile the second dealer Inquired with the first dealer why they told me they'd need the truck to sit there for a week. First dealer told second dealer they didn't have an experienced technician. Showed the first dealer the attached notification and they said "I'm not too sure about that, let me check with out tech". Haven't heard anything back yet....

Sent customer care an email on the delay getting my recall taken care of and received the following reply:

RAM Customer Care

I took my truck in for the inspection in June. They supposedly ordered the part with a big national back order note on the ticket.
Yesterday after 4 phone calls over two months they say the part is here come in tomorrow. Arrange for temporary transportation and a ride. Drop it off and two hours later I get the phone call stating the 2019 does not have a repair remedy available unless it has certain open recalls.
I called Ram customer care and was told the same thing.

Just an update, I took my truck back in 16 July and it was the Injection Pump again. They wouldn't let me drive it away. I am still without my truck today, waiting on parts. Not exactly a happy Ram owner today. They are replacing the entire fuel system to include the tank again. They said they found metal in the return lines again. Been waiting on parts.

I did get a rental vehicle about 1 1/2 months into this disaster, after hounding corporate FCA to help me out in some way.

I wonder what the certain open recalls are that they are referring to on your 2019 ram?

Same here. Even before the recall was officially announced I had made an appointment to beat the rush. They gave me a service date of a week later. They called me back a half hour later and said sorry charlie. February 2023 now for the 19’s, supposedly.

VB6 and W03 were early recalls on the 19’s. From what I’ve read the emission update (VB6) does not play nice with the CP4 recall software and they need further time to address the issues it was causing. You would think it would overwrite it but I guess not.

While I'm glad the recall has happened, the rollout of it has been frustrating. Reading here and other boards how some call the SA and two weeks later recall complete. Others like my self, have VIN checked in July, waiting months for pump etc or even worse no parts at all for 2019's....

Im not sure about the 19s but when I was looking for getting the recall done, I called multiple dealers, most said they had waiting lists and were months out since they were only allowed 2 pumps / week per Stelantis protocol. I found a local mom n pop dealer that had openings so let them do it,.. it was in and out in a day with only waiting about 2 weeks. May be call around and see what other dealers have, could be worth the drive and maybe overnight stay for peace of mind.

It can't be easy to put together kits for hundreds of thousands of vehicles while continuing to build parts for current production engines...not on a good day even, but especially in today's ****show.

I finally got my truck back a couple of weeks ago. Same deal all over again, replaced everything from the IP to the tank. Within 6 miles of picking it back up from the dealer, I hooked to my toyhauler and drug it 400 miles to NY then a couple days later, I hooked to my 20ft enclosed and took it to Wyoming and back. No issues. Took them 3 months to get it fixed this last time, but it seems good this time around. Not entirely sure how much I trust it at this point, but after 5K miles it seems fine. Scotty
