And I am quite happy. This was done with Smarty Jr UDC. It's a tune I built for towing and economy. 700 ft/lbs from 1700-2900 and 800 ft/lbs from 2000-2600. It tows the camper awesome, it's very smooth and much easier to drive than the standard SW3 tune.

The line that drops off was the PoD on 70, just to see when the power started to be effected at WOT. Run #2 was PoD 85 and Run #3 was PoD 99. The gauges have been telling me that I was making full power on PoD85, and the dyno proved it. I like using PoD 85 as it makes the tune even smoother and makes the slight puff of smoke on hot days even smaller.

All in all I can't really complain and I think it may work for a while :)

Good info. Do you have the latest Madds SW (514B I think?) in your Jr? Any other mods to the truck?

I don't get much smoke but if backing it if to 85% will get rid of even more and not cost me significant HP, that would be great.

I have the latest software, and a beta version of their UDC program.

I would try 90 on the PoD, as each tune may be different for where it hits 100%, but as you can see on my tune I still make all of my power.

Sounds good, thanks.
I do have a boost elbow though, that may allow me to use the whole thing albeit only at WOT.

Can you elaborate on what the UDC tune is?? and the beta testing?

Also, I just down loaded the 5. 14 tune and have yet to install it (it is FAR from straight forward, Had computer tech friend help after I failed , and he was far from impressed in the needless complexity of the simple update).

I have read that the levels for Torque and Timing are no longer done the same way? I was running on Tm 2 and TQ 3 to help with touchiness of throttle with standard shift. What do recommend I run to get approximate equivalents for starters or do you have different recommendation?

Thanks in advance

The 514B SW makes the throttle much less touchy. You may not need to back off Torque and timing as before.
And your right about the down load not being straight forward. My computer has not been the same since (literally - it sucks).

UDC is a program that allows the user to make custom timing/duration maps. It hasn't been released yet, but I have a beta copy I am running and testing for MADS.

I am always amazed when people have issues updating. It's always been a quick and easy process for me. Download, unzip, open the smarty. exe, plug in Jr, open file, Send...

I would run TM2 and TQ3 still.

Yes, it's the only tune I run.

The great thing about UDC is I can tweak the tune for cruise/tow/pass(hill pulling) based on load and rpms. It's 1 stop shopping for performance/economy.

ThanksAH64ID

Are the torq numbers still 2 default 3 less than 2, 4 less than 3 and one stock?

I guess the biggest issue with download/update is the directions are not step by step executable for someone with not the latest operating systems and not as handy around a computer as some. The instrumentation tech I had help me figured it out finally because of experience and familiarity with this stuff, and not because the instructions were good. The language/terminology barrier also is a little different.
