Such a big manly truck, with such a wussy sounding horn. Without going to the trouble of getting a compressor/air tank so I can use an air horn... is there another type of horn upgrade I can do? I can barely hear the horn over the motor. Thanks.
I use to have air hornes (Hadley Bully Horns) on my truck. I only got rid of them because the salt rotted the diaphrams out. They were the best thing in the world. When sitting in traffic, I loved laying on the horn. It would scare the heck out of anyone.
they work good, are cheap, and quick to install. They definetly arent as loud as some air horns, or train horns, but Im not lookin to get pulled over for em either. 20bux is a good price imho...
I found that one of my horns was clogged up with dirt. (there are two, one high tone, one low) As a result, it sounded pretty pathetic! I tried to clean it out, but ended up just getting a replacement at the Kragen down the street. It was about $12. It will say on the side of the horn if it's high or low, I just disconnected the wires to figure out which one didn't work. Sounds normal now.
