I have access to a DRB III locally and tried to enable my fogs with high beams yesterday and couldn't find it. A quick search only showed me how to do it on the 06+... but I thought I had read you could do it on the 05's... .

Thanks for the help...

I would be surprised if you can enable fogs with headlight high beams. It is illegal to use fog lamps except in a fog They are not driving lights with a focused narrow beam. Fog lights are a dispersed or diffused beam that blind oncoming drivers.

Yes, its illegal in the us... but there are 12 other countries you can program your truck for...

Local laws may vary.

fyi, it is not ok to use high beams when oncoming traffic is approaching in Oregon. It is also an OR state law, that few observe or are aware of, you must turn off fog lights when oncoming traffic is approaching.

IMO, if you can't have either on when traffic is oncoming, why not tie high and fog options together through the dimmer switch?

As for fogs blinding oncoming traffic, if they are aimed properly, they shouldn't. 99% are miss aimed and precipitate laws that few observe.

hmmm, ive never heard of driving with fogs on illegal except for when it's foggy. I always drive with mine on for bulb health. The legality would explain why I was brighted several times while in oregon last weekend. Ooops

They are not illegal. Where did you come up with that. I believe the only way on pre 06 models is with the brite box.

I think he has some good info there. I spoke with him several times about lighting projects of mine and have bought products from him, he seems knowledgeable. I see you have found good info there too!

Matt you like that Daniel Stern site don't ya?

I have to say that the Daniel Stern site has a lot of good practical info that a lot of people overlook. Most people get caught up in the hype that the marketing people put out which most of the time is a lot of B. S. I read one ad on a site that stated their lights were brighter than the sun, come on!! Who would actually believe that? They were in fact referring to color temperature but come on.

Just putting HID's into a stock headlight is not the answer to better lighting. The bulb, reflector and lens need to be designed together to produce good focused usable light.

And putting a tint on any bulb does not increase light output, it can only reduce it. All it does is shift the color temperature.
