I am putting a Cummins in a Suburban and am messing with a Dodge downpie attached to the bottom of my HX35W. I am having a hard time getting the stock Dodge downpipe to connect. I need the piece clamped to the turbo to turn at a faster angel. Or is the a 4 inch that will clamp to the back of my turbo and drop straight down? Anyone with pics of there exhaust connection to the turbo?

I assume it was a second gen engine? 1994 or newer downpipes have gradual rake down and back to them. The first gens downpipe is a few inches towards the cab and then close to straight down with a slight twist near the bottom. There are only a couple places that sell the 4" downpipe for the 1st Gens. Stans Headers is the only one I can remember tonight. Hope that helps.

Didn't see the engine/turbo info in your signature before, same info applies, you want a 1st Gen downpipe...

Bill Gilbert has a downpipe he got from a salvage yard. It flares out at the bend and is kind of flat, increasing it's distance from the firewall. Once it heads downward, it becomes round again. It looks kind of like a cobra with it's hood flared out.

Look for his picture gallery and it might be in there. Not sure if he had a Cummins part number or not.

EDIT - I looked at the gallery, and no pics. I remember he posted pics on the forum. This isn't the one I remembered, but the pics are here:

Thanks Guys

I really have a frankenstein of sorts. It is a first gen motor, HX35W turbo which I guess would be considered second gen, and a downpipe from a 99. The 99 zigs a bit and just wont go up. I'd really like a 4 inch pipe but I've spent a lot of money so if I could fab up some three I will for the short term.

my down pipe is for a hx-40 style but the principle is the same. I took and machined a v-band groove into a thicker walled pipe and welded that to a chopped off four inch 90. It comes off the back of the turbo about a inch or two and then shoots straight down.
