How many events do you need to make it to in order to be competitive points-wise? What other organizations have events besides DHRA? It looked like DHRA only had 3 or 4 pulling events?

We are working on a Springfield pull and one other, that is TBA at this time. If we get the Springfield pull, it will be the season opener.

What about a Minnesota pull or a Wi. the brush pulls are no fun because we have to run with gassers half the time. we need something up this way. what about a race day too, afew of us can hold our own on the track. so take in to consideration something up this way please.

Hey, maybe an east, a west and then a shootout at the end of the season in the middle. But I thought I heard talk of an event in Texas this year. Is that happening? Is it only drags?

East vs. West; with a conference championship and then a national championship? Sounds good to me; too bad I'm in the dead center; I have to travel either way.

Why isn't sled pulling more common out there in lefty land? May madness going to add it this year?

That's what I am talking about :D what is it going to take to get it going ?

BBD

More than your truck and a Pennsylvania truck in the class, Soctt!LOL

Adopting DHRA rules would be a good start. Because it would make no sense to have a year end clash, with different rules.

I was kind of hoping to get 05 hammered out, before we went west.

But I guess the time is now to be talking, eh?

Hey Sled, no way man - we had 4 trucks in our modified class for the High Desert Pull - it wasn't just BBD and Frank. Pretty pathetic isn't it?

I'm pushing to move some of the street rules in the direction of the DHRA for the reasons you mentioned Gene. I think to change it all at once right now would be a bit much though. Typically at least half of the trucks in our mod class run alternatives fuels. And when you only start with 4 or 5 at the most, you can't afford to lose any. We need all the participation we can get and don't want to eliminate anyone. But most of all we need organization - people are interested, its just too hard to follow as it stands. There are a few more guys that will likely be working their way in to the Extreme class this year which will help. Maybe we use 05 to sort of set the stage and get the DHRA introduced to some people - then make a serious run at it for 06. If we could get a few more big pullers from back east to come out for some of our events we could likely really open more eyes. I know it costs big $$ to do that though. A little points series up and down the west coast sure would be cool.

I think there would be alotta support throughout the midwest for a diesel truck pull. God knows theres enough tractor pulls (mostly antique tractor pulls) around here, and there exciting at times but nothing like a diesel truck or high performance tractor pull. I just think getting trucks to show up would be a challenge. I'm not set up right now for serious pulling but I would do a few pulls for a demo just to get it going. I'm sure John (FloorIt) and Russell (onestackdram) could be counted on to do a demo. If Russell's truck is ever running right. Just kiddin ya there Russell.
