But without an oscilloscope I'm not sure it's possible to diagnose a piezo injector.
I did post this question in another thread I started, but using Seafoam, as in pouring strait Seafoam into the filter canister when changing the filter, will it damage my pump or injectors? Here is a video in the application I'm referring to.Pretty much all the additives designed for diesel fuel are safe for the DPF, they may even aid in keeping the DPF cleaner.
Things like 2SO, ATF, heavy oils, etc, you are taking a big chance with in a DPF emissions system.

What are the symptoms of bad injector? I have some smoke under hard acceleration but I have my Smarty Jr turned up on Towing/ Torque.....216,000 on stock...don't injectors make knocking sound when going?
I use it and have used it on a multiple sets of injectors since about 50k, have over 280k now. I have seen no damage on any fuel system parts whatsoever.
This seems like a contradiction to me. How can you have had multiple sets of injectors in 300K miles and say that there has been no damage on your fuel system parts? What am I missing? I'm about to roll 310K on my original injectors and have not noticed any degradation of performance. 98% Power Service over the lifetime of the truck, and 2% Howe's early on, mostly on long distance driving.
In other words, the biggest reason perhaps would be changing injectors to complement other modifications in the search for performance gains.
I had #6 go bad and replaced at about 75,000. Have used Howes diesel treat since, and have had no real issues since, and now have 245,000 and counting on the clock.
