EGT’s running higher

I went 355,000 miles on my original injectors. I had the truck in to a Cummins repair shop, to fix an oil leak, while it was in, I decided to bite the bullet and replace all the injectors, as preventative maintenance. Of course I will always wonder how long they could have gone, if I didn't replace them. I do change the fuel filter (always fleetguard), every oil change. I also run Valvoline injector cleaner about every 10k.

I'm still running with the factory injectors. 2005 with 155k miles. Oil, oil filter, and fuel filter changed at 5k intervals. Secondary fuel filter and air filter changed at 10k intervals. And all filters are Fleetguard. Thinking about changing them out before I retire. Ed B

315,000. Did have a warranty replacement of the valve cover gasket and two injectors at about 120,000 miles. (extended warranty; truck purchased used). I stay with the Baldwin fuel filter (5 micro vs 7) and use the Shaffer's Diesel Treat 2000 all the time.

This is good to hear having 315k on 4 of your injectors. I also hav been using the Baldwin 7977 filter change every 10k and use Power Service diesel Kleen always. Will b installing an additional Donaldson fuel filter inline as well.

2004 quad cab 263,000

89,000 on my 2004.5 and all's good except: replaced #6 injector @ 80,000 for hard starting plus stutter during acceleration. Also, #4 fuel supply line came apart @ 85,000 (which I now know is a common problem.)

390,000 on stock injectors. Mostly highway miles, just droning along for hours. Installed a set of 50hp injectors, and 6K miles later, had broken rings in #1. Might be unrelated, might be that the new injectors were too much for a tired engine. Dropped a fresh rebuild back in, I'm hoping that I'll get at least 180K to 200K before I need major engine work again.

Im at ~165K miles, all stock injectors. Smarty TNT and FASS 95/95 been on it since ~70K. I pour some 2 stroke oil in the tank occasionally. Truck was used as a DD/do everything truck until about 120K, and for the last 40-45K its been used strictly offroad and towing, rarely goes anywhere empty.

Just talked to my buddy Chris. He now has 486579 on his 03 SRW 3500's injectors. He bought some some remans from Genos 3 weeks ago, but hasn't gotten them in yet. He ran a Bully Dog for years, then switched to a Smarty. He runs Baldwin 5 mic filters, and a couple or four years ago added some more filtration. He installs playground equipment from Cincinnati to the Georgia boondocks. "Snowball" still runs sweet (always has!), but fuel mileage is off a little. A lot of miles on her with gross combined around 16k.

This is great news that my injectors May last well past 200,000mi!

2004 SRW Quad, NV5600,Edge CTS2 w/ pre-turbo EGT- nv5600 temp-lift pump pressure, banks hi-ram and intercooler, 4” exhaust Mbrp and FTE resonator, PAcbrake, Modulite trailer light installed.

First set went 160K one failed and melted a piston. At that point I installed a FASS 150 setup I get paranoid about 250K to 275K and change them. I recently broke a ring at 773K(Truck has 933K now) on my rebuild. I had BB1's in it and they had about 250K on them. Sent them in while the motor was being rebuild to be gone through and nozzles changed to 03/04 style. Their comment was the injectors looked great keep doing whatever it was that I was doing. I buy my fuel from truckstops whenever I can. I change my Fass filters every 30K and only use fuel additive when I get in temps below 30deg.

Morning miss light smoke during the miss. Did it for a couple of days then while driving down the freeway towing an empty trailer light throttle it went to missing hard and smoking bad I shut it off immediately. Too late done.....
