My truck is 2001 Q-Cab SLT 2500 4X4 automatic longbed with a taste over 246,000 miles. I bought it last October with 236,000 miles. I bought it at a dealership and wish I could talk to the previous owner for some history. It's my first diesel and I love it. I'm really glad I found TDR. Update 280,000 miles.

230000 three lift pumps and a DDRP frame mounted. Original VP44 was replaced at 3000 miles with a rebuilt VP44 (not a miss print) it was replace for a long crank situation when ambient temps were above 90 degrees. Left and right rear axle seals Vacuum pump rebuild for oil leak and replaced Tappet Cover gasket. Added a noise filter to correct hunting at about 110000 miles has been fine ever since. Had to be towed home once only for what I thought was a failed lift pump turns out my fuel gauge was a little off and I had just run out of fuel. (was the pits to re-fire the engine. If I had the money I would purchase a brand new truck and pass this down to my grandson (the only person in my family deserving of a fine truck)

270,000 plus miles. Dealer replaced the oil breather when new after I dumped oil twice on steep downgrades. Had replaced the lift pump as a precautionary move, then moved it to the fuel tank when my fuel level sending unit went out. Have replaced several track bars. Replaced the power steering pump. Still have original clutch. Replaced front brakes, but really didn't need to. Replaced the real seal between the transmission and the transfer case. Recently replaced the rear differential seal. That is about it. I get a tad under 20 miles per gallon today as I did when it was new. It is rough riding and noisy, but you come to expect the feel and drive. The 6 speed has always had feedback if you are turning where my 1996 5 speed did not. I do my best to shift going straight for smoother shifts. I bought the 2001 as the 1996 was too long with the extended cab and 8 foot bed, otherwise I would probably still be driving it. It is about six times nicer to adjust the valves at 150K vs 25K.

Much of my driving includes dusty ranch roads. I change my oil every 3,000 miles and the filter at 6,000. I use Delo 15w-40 oil from wallyworld and filters from Geno's garage. This has been a pretty good truck, but I still use a 1972 Chev K20 as a ranch work truck and a 1973 Jeep CJ5. All have original engines and transmissions and are still going strong. Although they work in a harsh environment, I try to keep the mechanical stuff clean.

81k
2 VP44s
5 transfer pumps then ended that problem with the FASS
1 TPS
Brakes at 76k - Could have gone longer but the pads de-laminated from the backing plate with near a 1/4" left.
1 set of tires
Steering box
... that's it.

A buddies 99 2500 auto is rolling up on 700k with only 1 VP, 2 transfer pumps, transmission rebuild, vacuum pump rebuild, and a front end rebuild.

Any way to reset the poll or at least allow us to update our entry? I would think that the results are a bit skewed by now. I mean who really has less than 10,000-miles on their 24v?

as of today,389658. original turbo/injectors. couple water pumps, front wheel bearings, trans o'haul with clutch. ball joints, control arm bushings,shocks,u-joint or 2,and other normal wear items.

105,000 miles..... a couple of lift pumps, leaking vacuum pump seal and pinion seal, still a joy to drive.....

Well, looks like I am the senior on this forum with 226,000 on my 2001 3500 and still running STRONG! This truck has been used to haul a 32' enclosed trailer cross country so it has lots of highway miles. Installed a TST PowerMAX 3 Chip and 5" exhaust at 2,000 miles so this truck has been running strong and hard the whole time. In the first 100,000 miles, 1 clock spring, 1 bad DODGE thermostat that resulted in a head gasket failure which was covered under warranty. At 125 k, the lift pump died which took out the VP44 and left me stranded on the side of the road in Pennsylvania. Ended up with the Dodge factory upgrade lift pump in the tank. At 175, 000, checked the fuel pressure and upgraded to the FASS Titanium with sip tube. Still running the original turbo, injectors, water pump etc. This truck is a pulling machine!

My '01 HO/6 speed had 325,000 on the odometer by the end of 2005 when I bought a new '06 and sold it. An old friend who is my mechanic owns it now and recently told me it has about 450,000 miles on it now.

Stock 2005 2500 5. 9 with 255,00.

Replaced the ball joints twice, along with the rest of the front end stuff - tie rods and... . (even if they didn't need replacing) about every 100 k

Replaced the exhaust 1 year ago with 5" stainless.

On my 3rd set of rubber - BR Goodrich AT stock - getting about 115 k per set of tires

replaced all the u-joints 1 time due to vibration at about 225 k

regular oil changes at 5-7 k with Rotella

reg trans, rear end, dif. oil change with Amsoil

Just happened to look at the odometer when I started my truck earlier.

Had 65k on it when I bought it in 2010.
