as stated in the title anyone know how many of these trucks were made? how rare a truck is this? this ones a 98 quad cab 4x4 long bed

Medium rare

Don't have statistics. Just what my eyes tell me atleast around here in central virginia. I would have to say somewhat rare. I've seen a couple. I have seen more in upstate NY where I'm from when I return a few times during the winter for some snowmobiling.

not neccessary rare but desireable... the '98s had the updated dash and the first year of a quad cab and the last year of the 12v and first year of the 24v

there were less 5spds then autos for sure. .

I spent a couple months looking for a 98 12v quad/short 5spd, and came across about 10 for sale in the north east, and none of what I could afford, so I stuck to my 95.

No too rare got one in my driveway—past 10 years. That may be why - lotsa folks want the 12V reliability. I know when I bought mine there were 2 east of the Miss. (there was a truck drought as they retooled for the 24V I was told). The dealer sent 2 guys to drive it down from Vermont. So I got a breakin period (240 miles) from the same guys who would have to fix it!!

The only thing rarer than a 98 12v 4x4 quad cab is a 98 12v 4x4 quad cab owner who wants to sell his "holy grail" :-laf

The only thing bad about owning one is I'm so hesitant to slap a flatbed on it as much as I like flatbeds. Just because I might defile a thing of shear beauty.

I was thinking today on my way back from town that if these trucks are already sought after, what will it be like 20 years from now... . if the Lord tarries, of course, or if moth and rust doth corrupt. :)

Its much cheaper to just buy a clubcab and convert it for what these sellers think their truck is worth. Ive done a few.

Mine was built on 12-2-97 hit dealer 12-23-97 dealer got two more trucks on 12-26-97 & they were 24v. wouldnt trade mine for anything!!!!!

they're far from impossible to find... just gotta shop around. I had a nice quad/short 4x4 5sp truck. I've also had a quad/short 2wd and I'm currently putting a lot of miles on a quad/long 2wd :)

That configuration is a LOT easier to find than my '98 was, a '98 12v shortbed 2wd Club Cab. Call me strange but I wanted a CC instead of a quad cab.

I wasnt even sure the CC's were made in 98. Now I know.

I was looking at a new 97 CC before I bought mine. It was stripped other than the 4x4 and a/c. Price wasnt that much different either.

But I digress... ...

they made CC's in 99

They're mighty rare! Only seen one, I was at Massdiesel's old shop, verified it by looking at the door sticker.

My '98 CC has the same seats as the QC, the seatbelts are in the seat. The passenger side mount is unique to the '98 though, it has a long slider where the seat goes all the way to the dash to make rear entry easy. Slides a lot further forward than on my '96, works great.

I wanted a CC because I was tired of the sqeaky rattling doors and cab flex of the last two QCs I had, CC definitely has a stiffer cab.

Ive owned a few quad cabs and never had my door squeak or rattle! , yes Ive only seen one 99 with a club cab and it was a 4x4 too!

Well, they can't be that Great. I've had my 98 3500 Quad cab 4x4 12 valve that's in perfect condition up for sale for the last couple months and not one call. The automatic trans in it is worth half of what I'm asking for it and still nothing.
