How do you hook up a fuel pressure guage when you install the FASS system. It removes the schraeder valve from the Inj. pump on the 02 trucks. Has anybody done this yet and if so how about some advice.
turbo lcc - can you describe the t fitting you used? Would like to adapt existing fuel gauge setup that attaches to the schraeder valve if possible. Thanks
With my setup, the guage is only 6" from the injection pump. I used a "t" fitting and need to move it farther back. Too much flutter even with a shutoff valve turned almost closed. Would hate to trash the gauge.
Went to Home Depot bought 1/4" npt brass Tee, 2-1/4"npt x barbed screw in fittings, 1-1/4" to 1/8" reducer and some teflon tape. Total cost $6. 76. Put all together and spliced in fuel line about 1 foot before vp44 pump. Connected the electronic fuel pressure sending unit into 1/8" npt left. Got Pressure. Also since I removed stock lift pump and filter setup I now have good easy to get at place for my bypass oil filter since the twins forced me to relocate. Darn those pesky twins.
- I did basically the same thing BillGotthelf is explaining. . I am running a Brass T with 2 - 3/8 hose barbs and and a 1/8 port. I put my T about 12 inches away from the VP44.
OK. . I got my "T" and the related fittings and I guess I will just cut off the Schraeder valve fitting and slide hose onto a barbed fitting and see what happens. Still trying to get all my ducks in a row before tearing into existing system and disabling my truck for a while. Hate to think I would have to walk to parts store for some little thing I overlooked.
I would recommend permatex #2 on all your threaded fittings. I was warned about using teflon tape on the fuel system for fear of it being unraveled and sucked into the fuel system.
