ok i need a new ksb, but i have been told i need to know what model # pump i have, where is the id tag located?

also is the ksb pin supposed to be in or out without power?

and 1 more question.

what damage could have been done driving with the ksb on for about a month, i have no visable leaks, but have noticed some power loss at times

ID tag is located on the pump.

Why do you think you need a new ksb? You do know it is basically just for emissions? Fill out a signature, it will help you and us.

Damage: if you have a non-intercooled truck, running with the ksb on will only mean normal timing. If you have an intercooled truck, running with the ksb on, will only mean slightly advanced timing, which adds a bit more cylinder pressure, stress to headgasket. Higher timing would contribute to less bottom end power.

the pin was frozen 1/2 of the way out and would not move in or out. freed it up and put power and ground to it still had no movement. the engine was non intercooled but i am trying to find a turbo to hook up the intercooler to. just dont want to roast the engine i just started having fun with it

the pump is covered with so much grease and crap i just need to know about where the tag is so i dont heve to scrub the whole thing for hours looking for something that probably fell off years ago.

There is no tag- it is stamped into the side of the body. On the driver's side, look on the flat part leaning about 30deg downward from vertical. Kinda between the KSB and the mounting bracket on the rear of the pump, is a flat area with some writing stamped into it. Your pump should be a 0 460 426 114 if nonIC; ... . 184 if early IC; ... . 205 if 92. 5-93 IC There is also some other stuff stamped into it as well.

I have found that they do fit.

Some pumps have a tag held in place w/rivets. The "new" tag is placed over the location of the original stamped ID plate. The new tag will ID the part as a rebuild and give the new part number.

I have only seen two tags in all my days. Both on 1993 Duallies painted black... ... .....
