What a way to start my day. Morning news showed a So. Cal. man who used to play for the Redskins. He obtained a Personalized license plate of 1REDSKIN. Now Cal. feels it may be Politically Offensive to native Americans and want him to surrender the plate. He rightly went to CNN and the other news channels to get some publicity on it. I was going to say Only In Cal. but I see this everywhere. Makes me gag.

Maybe he's just out in the sun alot and want's to tell the world. What happened to freedom of speech. You can drive arround with a bumper sticker that says "**** off and die" but not 1REDSKIN. Explain to me the logic. The end is near.

Some years ago a woman got a plate with OKIEGAL on it. The DMV decided that it was offensive and wanted it back. Her restaurant was named that. She told them that her folks came from OK during the depression and she was proud of it. She still has the plate.



The best one I've heard of was a guy who put down NO PLATE in the second choice slot on his application because if he didn't get the one he wanted he didn't want one. You guessed it. He got a plate that said NO PLATE. Coolest plate on the road and he still has it.

This story ran in the L. A. Times. An "Indian Activist" was trolling through the DMV records, looking for this sort of thing and found the plate, which was something like 1REDSKN. He filed a complaint against the guy. The L. A. Times then did some more research and found out the guy's wife had a similiar plate reading something like REDSKN1. And so the L. A. Times published that fact and his wife's plate "number" in the story. I bet they both have to surrender their plates now. Of course, the L. A. Times didn't publish the name of the "Native-American Activist".

Conservatives don't have freedom of speech anymore. When we talk it is labeled "hatespeech". But this is changing as more people speak out! Truth WILL win!

What a joke, who calls the shots here Why can't people just leave each other alone? I am suppose to embrace people of all other cultures, but when they feel offended I have to yield, I think not I for one am not racist, but this guy was not trying to be one with his tag choice, and now they are treating him like one? Oh, yeah, forgot this one small tid-bit..... what if the guy requesting this tag was an Indian? This country is becoming a joke with these stupid childish issues Sorry for venting.

My sister, who is a cop in CA, had her plate to read the radio code numbers for officer down. They took it away from her when someone finally figured it out. She traded for the code for officer needs assistance, that was ok.

If the guy that has that plate fights hard enough he will probably be able to keep it. The plate is not offensive so just becuse it is not politically correct may not be good enough for cal to take it back.

There were a total of 18 plates in CA that had REDSKIN on them with a number or other letter that were recalled. Back in the early 80's there was a Datsun pick up in Hollyweird with the plate

"NOMF2TF" I wonder how long he had that one. I wanted

On one hand groups want to celebrate their heritage and difference then they get offended over harmless little words, arguments of opportunity perhaps? I work with a "man of color" from Georgia and he tells me there used to be a molasses with a brand name of "("N" word) in the cane patch" he found it to be a fond memory now I cannot even write it without being labeled!

Heard today on the radio that DC is back at it trying to make the redskins change their team name again because it is offensive. Just more of the crap from the useless socialist liberal garbage heap. Course also heard that since the right to carry concealed weapons became law, crime on persons has dropped significantly and a question air sent out to all the local police chiefs asking if a national concealed carry permit were available, how they felt on it, 93% or so said that they would favor it. So maybe there is hope after all tiny tim.

That's good news Morphious. I also recently read an Associated Press article on a major media outlet about the sky rocketing crime in Britain. Here is an exerpt:



"Hand guns were outlawed in Britain in 1997 after the massacre of 16 children and a teacher at a primary school in Dunblane, Scotland. Some 160,000 handguns were surrendered to police.



Dave Rodgers, vice chairman of the Metropolitan Police Federation, said the ban made little difference to the number of guns in the hands of criminals. According to a recent survey, the number of crimes in which a handgun was reported increased nationally from 2,648 in 1997-98 to 3,685 in 1999-2000.



"The underground supply of guns does not seem to have dried up at all," he said. "



Looks like some folks (even socialists) are finally catching a clue. Although I suppose Sarah Brady and the rest of the "grabbers" never will...

I suppose i will inflame some. however, i truly believe the statements like : guns don't kill people, people kill people! also, loud pipes save lives! if one were to carry the idea that guns kill shouldn't we banish motor vechicles, steak knives, alcohol, cigarettes, perscription medicines and a whole of other items that are misused by individuals. over the years i'vvvve gained weight!! ban the second helpings! by the way here in florida childrens services tried(unsuccessful at this point) to try to control legally an overweight first graders diet!!!!!!!!!!! I just recently read some info published by the john birch society. not that radical or suggesting overthrow of the gov't. . just some good info with supportive documentation. since i'm working on not offending someone my disclaimer is: so sorry!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! bruce

I feel like I am speaking to the choir here. I do not support Affirmative Action, I do not believe in being "politically correct". What I do believe in is being direct and honest. That standpoint has angered a many people I know. My advice to them is deal with it. I am so tired of the Whining Liberal Socialistic Tree-Hugging Gun-Grabbing Homo's and their B. S. that I could (and have) scream! I love this country, but I hate the way things are at the moment.
