Sorry not calling anyone a liar but these DRW 4.10 trucks "MAY" get 18 if you drive 55-60.

So until people fill their tanks to the TOP and refill at same exact spot and quit citing the "lie O meter" I say BS.

so far it seems the best miles per gallon is about 59 miles an hour at least that I have seen it says it's getting about 18.8 so if maybe 18 who knows but it's definitely higher than its 75 then at 75 miles an hour so that's a good thing yeah so definitely the best fuel mileage is at about 59-58 around there there.

Stuart, fill it to the top. Take a drive at 58-59 at least 300 freeway miles. Fill truck to the top at same location. Miles divided by gallons, report back.

Stuart, I know that I have an SRW truck that is a 2008 model but I do have over 135,000 miles on the OD with every fill-up recorded since new. I usually state yearly averages in fuel mileage as this is the closest, I can figure my fuel mileage with any accuracy. Why an average because you can never fill-up the same way twice so, the yearly average is best for quoting mileage in my opinion. I never ever used the OHD mileage in the truck as this is in accurate by two or three miles per gallon and on the high side. But the mileage to empty is very accurate, go figure!

My average has ranged from a low of 11.6 to a high of 14.2 MPG, this is all hand calculated. The 11.6 MPG occurred when the truck was brand new. My yearly average includes all styles of diving, city, highway and towing my three different 5er's that I have had.

Jim is correct that the best method is taking fills over a long period. When I used to run fuel economy tests for a customer concern I found that the most accurate results were by filling at the same pump using the same method (fill at same speed, same number of clicks before stopping) and driving at least 100 miles. It wasn't the best way, but I can only recall one vehicle that didn't get considerably better mileage than the customer claimed it was getting. The reason is fuel economy has so many variables that most people do not consider. The most important are speed, wind, and consistent speed.
I also know that I seem to own the bad trucks that never get close to the mileage some other owners say they get. I must have bad luck!

I just wanted to give an update guys I'm having neck pain because of the truck and I'm going to get some new tires they're only $103 each but yeah what's the lowest I can run in the back the 2,000 lb of wood and blocks in the back has helped greatly but I'm going to probably have to take that stuff out within a few weeks so I believe I can run the back tires at 35 I think is that correct or does that cause undue wear so I'm just trying to figure out what to do and what will ride better I will put a link to the tires if I can find the link here and I will let you guys check them out but they're $103 a piece my nexans are worn out in the back pretty much so again if I can use 35 PSI and have nothing in the back that would probably be okay but I don't think it would soften the ride that much I mean maybe it will but I when I'm pulling travel trailers you know you only put about three or four or five hundred pounds on the back but yeah I'm going to take all the stuff out I think I showed you guys a picture of the red oak wood and I've got about twelve hundred pounds of wood and about 800 pounds of concrete blocks............. So if I had 30 p at 35 PSI with these new tires with them would that cost cause them to wear tour the inside of the tread another words in the middle or would that cause the outside on both sides of the tread to where I'm not sure but all right guys thanks for your help sorry to sound silly but yeah it's hurting my neck man and I should be able to get it straightened out but I don't think I've run them that low not not that I remember 35 I don't think I've run them that low in the rear???????
