I was not only able to stop appropriately because it lifted my rear wheels off the ground there were no skid marks for my rear wheels at all in the accident that I had.

If you had trailer brakes and they were set right, they will force your hitch down....true story. Also, modern rigs have antilock brakes...hummm.

The main point I was trying to make, is upgrade your ball mount. You have a class 5, 2.5" receiver, take advantage of it and get in the 15-18k range. You are hauling commercial, you don't know what you will be towing next.

Trucking needs all the help it can get because what can go wrong at some point will. If you are on top of your business you will try to mitigate that as much as possible.
Again, it needs to be adjustable or carry a bunch of different drops so you can keep your trailer level.

I was just saying grow up girls everything's going to be okay we can agree to disagree on some things about the truck however it's not that I haven't figured out what tire pressure to use it's just that I have some bad discs in my neck and herniated discs and I try to be very careful so I don't have to get neck surgery even though I've got full insurance and would pay for it which is nice but it's not a good thing to have neck surgery if it all possible.
Just look at the photo of my huge family I'm probably one of the most blessed people to walk on the face of the Earth so I agree to disagree on many points that you guys are negative about but still I'm blessed and highly favored we can just agree to disagree on certain points but I think personal attacks are not necessary see I don't say you all a bunch of old curmudgeonly jerks but I don't know I try not to judge people.

I will just say as my dear departed father says will used to say if you don't have anything nice to say keep it to yourself no more personal attacks boys I'm going to have to really drive you nuts haha I'm only kidding.

That's a nice looking family Stu. The best asset a man can have.

I'll give you my take on what's been happening here and the reason for everyone's response - hopefully I'm not mis speaking for anyone. It seems you have come here countless times seeking advice, and that's commendable. Alot of people are afraid to ask questions, you clearly are not and that's a good thing.
What gives me (and I presume) everyone else the rub is it seems like you are extremely resistant to most if not all of said advice. Problem is, much of what is given here is not based on preference but FACT. The tire pressures given to you probably 100 times are based on manufacturers recommendation. The W/D hitch is recommended by all vehicle manufacturers and SAE.There are SAE tow ratings with and without a w/d hitch. Like guns, these tools are only as safe as the person using them. An improperly set up w/d hitch and improperly adjusted tire pressures cause accidents. Not the tools themselves.
I could go on and on but I hope you get the idea. Go back through this long winding road of a thread and actually look at the advice being offered and do some research. You'll find alot (not all) of the same.

I got to say it guys you're not going to believe it the air ride just blew out again I just attach the trailer to the pickup truck and I lowered it lowered it lowered it and it put it up I'll let you know at the proper height and then it just went you just went poof poof and it blew out the air ride oh well got to bring it in the morning thankfully I'm at 35107 instead of 36000 all right guys I'll be good from now on??????

Stuart, stay safe out there, the guys are just making sure they look out for you and get you and everyone home to their families each night.

If you check out Weigh Safe ball mounts they are pretty nice 2.5" units, also Anderson has nice 2.5" units, they don't do the WD set up, but those are pretty common, much different technology then back in 98 when you had your accident. Can't really compare the stuff from back then to today.

The 2.5" mounts take out a lot of slop that the adapter adds in.

Mine was like $135 for a weigh safe with out the scale, think it was 7.5" drop.

But Anderson has nice ones as well.

Ok I now have the tires at 32 psi on the back and 80 psi on the fronts still riding a little rough but better......I also got the air ride fixed they said that one of the lines had gotten loose however I'm wondering if maybe I had too much weight on the rear I had some of those concrete blocks in the truck bed so it may have been at like 4200 pounds but I believe the load capacity on the truck with occupants is 5210 lbs.

Search psi and select this thread only.

Your post #116 on page six has a bunch of info.

Just making it easy for you to find the info, wonder what non-political technical thread has the most entries?

@TDRAdmin4 is there a way to sort by thread replies and see the top threads? This thing has to be up there...
