Competition what 1/4 time do you all think ill run?

Competition I raced. Geuss who won??

Has anybody ever seen a complete fiberglass front bumper, or aluminum, for our trucks? I wonder what kind of bumpers are used on the nascar trucks? Does anybody else have any hints on shedding some weight besides the obvious? Can anything be done to the bed without being seen? Thanks...

Our stock bumpers are feather lite as it is, they can't weigh 30#'s, unless you made it out of paper your not going to loose any weight. The same with the bed, it's not very heavy 400#'s (just a quess), and there's not alot that can be done there.

My heap needs to loose weight also, things that will be removed for the season, rear seat, one battery, toolbox, tailgate, maybe passenger seat, do we need doors? :D

actually front bumpers weigh in at 44pounds. A glass one with factory brackets should weigh about 14, thats shedding 30 pounds. Somebody has to make one... .

You might remove the accessories from your bumper and use the skin as a mold. Put release agent on the inside and lay fiberglas resin and cloth inside. Putting the stuff inside means the outer skin of the fiberglas replica will be pretty smooth and accurate. Don't make it too thick and you can flex it enough to remove it after it hardens some. Then you can add another layer or so of cloth and resin, assuming it gained enough shape integrity on the first casting that it looks good when you remove it. I don't expect there are aftermarket ones out there, and I imagine the outer skin of the sport bumper is almost as heavy as that massive  steel one that is a full 0. 080" thick :p

Install a fiberglass hood , remove the spare tire & trailer hitch. Probably the best weight reduction is lightweight wheels & tires. Each pound of rotating weight is actually equal to seven.

Also the rear bumper can be replaced with a fiberglass roll pan, but when it's all done it's probably easier just making more horsepower :D

I know on a snowmobile the rule I was always told was 1 pound of rotating mass was equal to 6 regular pounds. I don't know how it works out on a truck.
