Diesel NOISE Back 2003/4 HO 6spd Box

I want to purchase a new 2003/4 HO 6spd 4X4 quad long bed but, I cannot do it until I know for sure if it is possible to make a box to put the nutts back on the 5. 9. Without them I would be driving a slow quite boring truck. The sound of a non-de-nutted diesel is part of the fun, not to mention the mpg & torque we are missing out on! In a hurry to buy --need lots of expert Input.

1. ) Does anyone know if it is possible get diesel sound back!

box with user option to do this at all engine rpm would be great!

2. ) Does anyone know if addon's like injectors & power boxes are possible on new common rail HO engines. Yes I know, scREw the warranty I want my ISB with nutts please !

3. ) Is anyone else out there who would like to have the option to have the old sound of the 5. 9ISB back at the push of a button? More power & better mpg. For your off road 4x4 truck pulls I mean !!??

4. ) P. S. What are we going to do about those ugly headlamps ?

Well thanks KC for the comment about my bad netiquette. This is only my third post and I am trying to get the hang of this.

I have read most of other posts and need new input.

Do you have a thread however you want to point me too !

I dont know anything bout the ability to make the new ones louder, but i do know that ill be sticking w/my 2001 rattlin ram till it falls apart. i cant stand the thought of going through a parking garage and not setting off car alarms:)

you mean, you can fit into parking garages? i can fit into some with my 'hoe but not many. . but yeah, it is fun setting off peoples car alarms with the exhaust. :D

Parking garages

Boy, I avoid parking garages. I remember years ago, I wanted to park in one, the entrance looked low, so I pulled up real slow and checked the height, it was okay, so I entered it. Well that was a bad idea. I couldn't get out the first exit and I had to go under a low beam to get to the other side, in order to go out the other exit. I couldn' fit under the beam, so the only choice I had was to go out the way I came in. I never seen so many people that could shake a fist, cuss me out and all the other little things people have a tendency to do. I finally made it out and I avoid parking garages. You would think that all entrances and exits would be the same height or at least the entrance would be the lowest point.

YOU guys are a hoot, lol,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,i use to fit into parking garage, my wheel base now 16' cut my truck in to, added 53" to frame about 5 years ago, flat bed off of a 1955 chevy 2 ton $100 heavy 1/4 inch plate, now I got my work shop on wheels,,,,,1965 Red Label 200 amp, lincoln, bottles, tools, I am happy, but no parking garage for me any more....

Guys, the injector pump is what makes that good ole boy noise you are looking for,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,if it was mine and I wanted noise get away from the common rail system and go buy an older truck,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,computer nightmare, or go scrap that engine, buy you the old reliable 12V, with only one twelve volt wire to the injector pump to shut off the fuel, thats it, seen one on ebay yesterday, I think it would be easier and less problematic

I would think straight piping it would regain that loud diesel sound you're after. A Smarty Jr will definitely pump up the power. Transplant a 24v in there. They make enough racket for two diesels.

That's funny, I have no problems getting mine in a parking garage. My wife ducks her head a lot thinking we are going to hit something. Yes ride height is stock.
