Idle a little rough at times.

Does anyone think that the Crankcase Vent Filter could cause the truck to idle rough at times. Not a missing type of rough idle, just a little seat of pants type is the best way I can describe it. The truck has 160K on it and the vent filter is the original.

Don't see how, but as with with most things on these trucks, some things simply defy logic !!!!

No, vent filter has no effect on fueling and idle quality. That would be FCA,injectors, and the ECU that effect idle quality. A rubbe dwire or bad ground can cause this as well as hard part failure. Check the AC clutch activation wire to make sure it has rubbed bare somewhere along with ECU A & B connectors for corrosion.

If you don't use additives, or if you do and don't work the truck hard frequently, try and injecor cleaning.

No and if your concerned about replacing it as a maint. item, I suggest you leave it. Forever.
I've taken one apart and there's simply nothing in it to ever go bad (short the housing being defective and causing a leak all over the top of your engine - like on mine).
