the MOST expensive V-8 gassers I've seen are near a grand but add the word "diesel" and it double or triples the cost.

I know there have been a lot of ideas so far. I’m very jealous of the aluminum gauge mounts that some of the other trucks have (I. E Duramx over head mount) I forget who it was but some one on this site put a gauge where the cigarette lighter plug is. I was thinking that a trick billet aluminum insert that would replace that small piece in the dash where the cigarette lighter is with a gauge mount would be really nice the only down fall is that the cigarette lighter would have to be relocated maybe in the same spot in the dash but on the passenger side?

A 5th silver aluminum wheel that matches the four that came with the truck so I could legitimately do a 5-wheel rotation without looking like one of "those" trucks.

I have this for my truck. Bought it off a member who put on aftermarket wheels.

Check Ebay - it's pretty easy to find someone selling take-off factory wheels.

Or, buy one from the dealer. They run under $1k each last I checked.

[Also, the aluminum wheels are forged, not machined from a big hunk of aluminum. I don't think you'd want to hog out a wheel from a giant ingot of aluminum. ]

I already have your billet . 44 mag shift knob and love it, except in the winter time. But I would be game for a billet valve cover or the door sill plates.

I stick a Crowne Royal Purple Bag over mine in the winter. Once the cab warms up, it comes off and I can look cool again!:-laf

I'm waiting on a reply from my buddy. I sent him a link to this thread and I'll see what he thinks his crew is willing to build. Door sill plates would be made out of aluminum sheet wouldn't they? Have you guys seen them made out of billet?

I was just dreaming... I've been cruising eBay, but most OEM wheels on there are the newer chrome/high polish finish and not the silver alloy finish that came on the 04s and matches the four I already have. Actually, I am looking a little harder for a 5-wheel set of H2 takeoffs. Much more versatility.

Aluminum wheel center caps to replace the factory plastic ones.

I've always thought the grille and grille surround would be much nicer made from polished aluminum instead of plastic. (Impractical to hog that out of a block of aluminum, though).

Aluminum headlight and heater control knobs would be cool.

Take the wheel center caps idea one step further. Make them fit just like the factory ones, but with the TDR logo one them. Might be nice.

Custom Center caps.

Take a look at the big rig shop. Moonies, spikes, custom logo's. All you need are to be able to mount up those funky lug grabbers.

I took my front tow hooks off with the intention of mounting 2 KC lites up front. I was going to fab a couple of "L" brackets as I have done so many times before... but since youre asking.

And no, I dont want some big push bar...

Short shifter

How about a short shifter for the G56 that is hollow at the top and down to some distance below the shifter boot so you could route the genos exhaust brake shifter knob with the recessed switch... I could see it now! Oo.

I wonder if the size of one's ball hitch is inversely proportional... . anyway... .

If it were a real part it would be too expensive, but as a joke?!?! A fool and his money are soon parted!

Billet end cap oil filter wrench

When I first bought my truck a member of one of the Diesel sites was selling end cap oil filter wrenches machined from billet. They fit the fleetgaurd filters and had a 3/8 drive square in the end.

I tried to purchase one but he was sold out and was not making them any more.

I have one made from plastic but it easily slips and most times you have to fight with it while trying to remove the filter.

I would be interested in one if they could be made.
