Stock filter is 10 micron, not 30.

Actually the stratapore fuel filter is ABSOLUTE at 30 microns, but only 60% efficient at 10 microns. It does have a nice flow rate.

Yup, thats the oil filter. My bad. I also don't believe that stat on the fuel filter though for a second. 98. 67% efficient after maybe 20 passes

Lightman, you're a lot less trusting than me. I tend to believe what Fleetguard says. Maybe I'm naive?

Well, I've done some fuel analysis testing before and after a few different filters. One was a 2 micron Stanadyne Fuel Manager, another the stock VW TDI filter. In both cases with single passes through the filters the particle levels were definitely reduced, but not anywhere near what the manufacturers were claiming. Then again, most of the time manufacturers don't specifically quote their efficiency rating to be for a single pass.

If it makes you feel any better, the FM did a lot better than the vw unit!
