Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) in need of code reset in Apple Valley, Ca

A local member offered to reset the check engine light on my 02 and now I cannot find his phone number. I thought it would clear after 20 starts but that has not been the case.

not 100% sure but i think autozone will tell you codes for free. pretty sure they have cleared them for me as well.

No they no longer do that in Ca. I took care of him cleared the codes and if anything else pop's up we will dive into it to figure out why .

unforftunately, I no sooner pulled away from your driveway and the check engine light was on again. I hope to have my own code reader soon and will go from there. The crazy thing is, before the vp44 went bad just before thanksgiving, it run better than it ever did. then it simply would not start. I have a hunch that i need to hook up a resistor to fool the computer into thinking that my old lift pump is still connected. I have a new pump run off a relay controled by the backup circuit.

Well sorry we didn't fix it as for a reader you can get 1 at AutoZone or just about any auto part's store .
