Competition 24V power??

From what I saw standing behind Nick as he pulled was his rear u-joint let go. The end caps were left on the track. Gene knows, we were all standing together watching.

:eek: Wow Daniel didn't know you were still a member here! :confused:

Yeah I talked to Nick yesterday, he said that the spring perches on his D80 colapsed and caused the axle to wrap around and that got his U-joint. :{

just trying to build one that i can go to a pull. pull it. drive it back on the trailer. go home. and not have to constantly replace broken parts. that's all

Amen to that. It looks like you found the next weakest link.

I see thats working out well for you... ... ..... ;)

Congrat's to Brad Hodler, Missouri for his 1rst place in the street class. Anyone know where he got his turbo, fuel and electronics... ... ... :-laf , he now owns my black 98. 5 sans engine. Good job Brad. Larry

Did the guy he bought it from work in Columbia, Mo at one time, help me have the right to carry and conceal in Missouri, and finally shift gears in the middle of a sled pull in Muncie, Indiana. :D

Do I win a prize or what.

Oooohhhhh I got that one on video... . I was there personally recording it..... the sound and sight of it was just :eek: :--) :eek: :--) :eek: :--)

You must have skeered a lot of people. I read some pulling rules the other day where shifting gears with a standard during a pull is outlawed! Why, thets not fair!

Some of the smoker tractors at the indoor pull were grabbing a gear somehow... and then downshifting when the going got tough at the fat end.

I don't even begin to pretend to know anything about farm implements and their various drivetrains... but, someone mentioned that they have some sort of 'manumatic' transmission that lets you powershift while the soot's aflyin'...

Matt- without being there I am assuming it was in the single charger class- maybe a super farm class or something? Red tractors use t/a= torque amplifiers, and the green ones use a 2 spd shift in the quad range transmission they use. They are in my understanding very similar. You have a standard type transmission, and then a hydralically shifted OD I guess you could call it. It has been a long time since I wrenched on green tractors. Not any experiance with the red ones mechanic wise. Ran a lot of them. The t/a can be torn up very quickly if it is used as a brake, ie pulling back on the throttle and then pulling the t/a back to low. Guys tear them up alot in the fall pulling it wagons. They last pretty good as long as you shift them under power.

Somebody with more wrenching experiance on these tractors should step up here.

Very interesting... I saw a lot of neat stuff that weekend at the pulls.
