RE: Pro Turbo 99

What are you trying to do with your truck? Are you racing it or are you just needing extra power to tow etc. The Phat Shaft 62 is a great towing turbo. The Super Phat Shaft 66 is a great turbo for horse power and Sled Pulling/ Drag Racing. And yes we have towed with the Super Phat Shaft 66 and have had very good results. Please contact us to explain all the benefits either way. Thanks 1-800-955-0476

What is the PS62 pressure is set for, Not what it is capable of but how much its designed to run at continually where it will still deliver cool air and low drive pressure?

Re: Phat Shaft 66, 62

The waste gate is set at 40psi and the boost fitting adds about 8psi additional boost pressure. The reason we use the boost fitting is to give you total adjustability of the turbo and to make your life easier when tuning your truck. The Super Phat Shaft 66 will make more total boost pressure than the Phat Shaft 62. The 62 will top out at 55-56psi but will change due to over all fueling of the engine. The Super Phat Shaft 66 has been recorded up to 68psi with enough fuel. Thanks

hmmm I wonder what drive pressure and more importantly air temp was at this pressure?

I have no doubt that more air could be shoved into the engine at a lower pressure.

RE: Super Phat Shaft 66

There has been a post on a different thread that states that a conversation was had with Mark at TST products. He stated that Mark tested a Super Phat Shaft 66 and twins and other large turbos. Our Phat Shaft was the best or highest horse power that he has tested. MORE THAN TWINS! Jim will be finding out what twins are capable of soon.

does anyone have a sps62, and how do you compare it to the 66

I was wondering the same thing. From what I have read it sounds like the 62 is a better compromise if your truck is a daily driver that sees towing. What I would really like to know. . What the drive pressure vs boost pressure on the 62 is from 0 to 45 psi boost?

The SuperPhat shaft 66 was the first to break 500hp on TST's Mustang Dyno.

That surpasses Piers Twins, the ATS Aurora, Super B, B104, etc.

Was this using the same truck for the baseline?

amazingly yes, it was the 03 6-spd he has with a SBC DD clutch (the one that broken the input shaft earlyer this year)

Amazing because those twins should have done the job

I have an sps62 and have used it for about a month now with no regrets love it.

RE: Super Phat Shaft 66

We are still trying to see the upper limit of this turbo. We are testing our new design CP3 pump VERY soon and this should prove to be Very interesting. We will let you know what happens and report our findings. Thanks

Once I get some of the other issues worked out with my truck I will give you a run down on what the Phat Shaft did in the Twin configuration.

Initially it cleaned up the smoke, dropped drive pressure quite a bit, It's a little slower at spooling initally but comes on like mad. Yes it works fine without an external gate and I see no reason to add one as I can always open the gate more with adjustments/spacer if needed but I'm not there yet. This gate design is totally different and has it's own path flow that exits aft the exhaust wheel so it causes no issues. The turbo is well designed with very heavy duty componets, wastegate ect. and it wants to work. There is allot and I mean allot of machine work done to the turbo, that shows what it takes to make sure it works. Yes this is and was a shot that we wanted to try just to see how it really worked in a Twin configuration, the 62 or the 64 would have worked great and still will but you guys know I'm a little sick too. There will be much more R&D and maybe a few more tricks to tryout in the future, but the main thing right now is to get everything working correctly with the whole combo. A big thanks goes out to Industrial Injection and specifically Brady for working with me... ... . stay tuned!

Jim
