How many of you have aftermarket injectors or "upgraded" the factory Cummins injectors and done "ANY" modifications to the fuel pump?

When we use to get the trucks in to our dealership we usually "tweaked" the pump just enough to put a smile on the customers face. #ad

B. O. M. B. means Bosch Only, My Buds! hehehe Why would a 12 valver go to aftermarket injectors when Bosch makes a beautiful array for us? At each TDR show, I look around to see if there are any untouched P7100 pumps. It's pretty hard to find any!

Surely you aren't the "Cummins presence" on the forum looking for fraudulent warranty claims? If so, you are on the wrong forum! Hie ye to the 24 valve forum. There are the po' folks who believed the 1998 lies about more power, less noise, and better mpg than our fabulous 12 valve Rams give! Then they had to resort to B. O. M. B. s to get their Rams to perform as advertised.

If thou be not the one whom I ranteth against, rest easy and assured that others also read this!

Dr. Joe, have you been sniffing diesel fuel again? You are in fine form today!! #ad

I'm with Joe on this one. My 96 was quieter and delivered better mileage than the 2000. I do not think it is the problem with the ISB, but what DC has done to the trucks computer. That is why I am fixing it myself with 275 injectors and add on box. I will say the 2000 is a MUCH better truck than the 96.

Rest assured I am NOT a Cummins "plant". I use to work for a Cummins distributor, but no more.

We still use stock Bosch injectors for low horsepower increases. When the customer demands more we make modifications to the Bosch injectors (without ill effects). We change the flow and pressures, depending on the application.

98 Dodge Ram, 2500, 12 valve, automatic trans. , 4 WD. Performance injectors, turbo, torque converter, valve body, pump work and lots more! Dana 80 rear end- I had to throw the 70 away after snapping off two pinions in 2 months. Even with all these modifications, I still take a back seat to my husband "White Dodge".

Chaw:
Your silence on why the 2000 is "a much better truck " than the '96 is deafening.

Seriously I can only speak from my lowly position in life as one who is Un-BOMBed, the difference between my stock 94' and my stock 99' was stiking in the performance area, still I will grudgingly admit the 94' did get a little better fuel milage. Regards Pete

P. S. I think Mr. Donnelly got it right when he said that it was hard to find an UN- bombed 12V. Huummm?

edit ... sorry for going off topic ... let me defend the 2000 trucks some , but since my last was a 98 1500 and an 89 150 i don't have the correct comparisions , but when i was looking at buying and considered a 99 leftover at first things i learned both here on the TDR and also when comparing the 2 at the dealerships led me to believe that the changes made to the 2000 , some are comparable to a 96 ,made for a better PACKAGE ... 1 the redesign of the front brakes , caliper change and the removable disc rotors without a major disassembly , hopefully the brake pull problem is gone ... 2 the option of power seats on BOTH sides along with the heated option , this is my personal favorite , did it make it a better truck? for me it did . # supposed changes to the auto transmission , only time will tell with those that have bombed with stock trannys ... the QUADCAB verus the extended cab , even though this is a 98 change , it was the deciding factor that made me buy my 98 and it would seem from a few problems i had with weather strips on my rear doors the 200 doesn't have the same problem ... but i guess one thing that the 96 has over the 2000 is the 12V motor and its injection pump which makes pushing the BOMB envolpe easier and less costly ...
