While I believe/know from everything I've read over the past few years that rbattelle's info is correct then these are actually two different issues. How so? Well the injector failures on OEM injectors are primarily caused by insufficient filtration while the failures that are pressure related are caused primarily by pressure spikes. If you're running a pressure box then you have to have the common sense, given the pressure spike information supplied above, to NOT run your pressure turned up all the time. An occasional turn up/dial up of power is not as apt to damage your sticks. It just makes sense that anything that is run at the max is more likely to achieve failure.

I think that's a prudent way of looking at it.

57,000 so far and no Injectors. I did have a 2% fuel dilution in the last oil sample though. I am ready to resample after a longer drain interval.

The ONLY time the truck was back for any work ever was to get the CP3 replaced under warr. The dealer had a Cummins tech, and did a great, clean job.

Ok, add my 06' into this poll as well. I had 3 that were severely leaking, and the other 3 were questionable. The truck has 160k miles. Flux1's are going in.

I have 115,000 on my 2003. Began starting hard two weeks ago. Changed the lift pump,it was getting loud. Didn't cure the problem. Dealer says #5 injector is bad. That is suppose to be the problem.

I have a 2003 4X4 Laramie 4dr Quad 115,000 miles. Began having problems getting it started. Had flow on the transfer pump. It was starting to get loud so I change it. Truck would still not start. Dealer diagnoised #5 injector bad. Been waiting a week now for a replacement. Estm. $1,050

Dealer changed #3 injecter after having the truck for a week and a half. Got the truck back from the dealer. Next morning it would not start. Towed it back down there. It sat 4 more days. They now say that there injector #2 is bad. There doesn't seem to be a way to add to the survey. Now I have two that have leaked down.

54000, no problems. Bone stock but just programmed Smarty Jr. at 40hp setting. That will remain. We'll see about the rest.

129,800 miles and still on all original injectors, but all my fuel goes through a separate filter before it gets into my main tank

03 HD 5600,
Making oil since 68K miles. Now 82K and last Backstone Lab check indicated 2.5% fuel at only 3K miles. New injectors going in within the month. Funny though, it runs so nice one would never think there was a problem. One question though, my tail pipe used to run a light grey color. Now it is almost a black as my 95 ran. So, to you 03 HO guys, does your tail pipe run clean?
