How do the 275RV injectors affect the warranty? Will DC void the warranty with these installed if you have to take it in to be serviced by the dealer? Also, how big of a project is installing these injectors and what do you need to purchase other than the injectors themselves?

Thanks,

yes larger injectors will void your warranty

but the injectors won't harm your truck its a mild upgrade and for the dealer to check your injectors they would have to pull the valve cover.

Its a fairly easy install if you attend a BOMB party in your area :)

Do it you will be glad you did ;)

******BTW our friend Piers has a couple sets of 275's still available

at a very very good price ******* www.piersdiesel.com

Better Hurry

Ray, if your real concerned but still want the injectors, I believe that Diesel Dynamics sells their stealth models, which have the same numbers visible to the prying eye that removes the valve cover as the OEM injectors. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

Stealth injectors

I know for a fact that Bully dogs are "stealth", buddy of mine just put his in, same #

I installed BD 1's about a month ago. The part #'s were very similiar but not identical to the ones in my (ETH/DEE). (They were advertized as "Stealth"). I would agree that a DC mechanic is not going to pull out an injector to check if you've changed them. Just be very very careful when you do the work so that you minimize any other external signs such as evidence that certain bolts have been removed. Oh yes, a 3/4" crows foot will be a must along with a good sized breaker bar to get the #5 & #6 injector lines loose. One other thing, have a spare gasket on hand for the intake joint that you will disassemble (I was stupid enough to do mine without a spare on a Sunday).

I waited till I had a few miles on mine to do the injectors. At my dealer where I live I don't think they could tell the difference. Last time I was there to get a filter they said my 01 HO was the only one they had seen. They have heard of them but they have never sold one, I bought this one while on vacation out of town.

Ray,

Congrats on the beautiful new 2002 Cummins.

My $. 02 - Unless you are one of the few that honestly is immune from the "gotta have more power" syndrome (BOMBitis), I would suggest going straight to DD stage 3's or equivilant sized injectors. That's what I did. Going with the 275's is a small step, then you taste the new power, and decide you need more..... Pretty soon, you've gone through multiple sets of injectors at a really high price.

If the DD Super Mentals had been out when I upgraded, I would have gone that route straight off. :D
