Well the truck saw the hook today to get home. Getting on the on ramp today getting up to speed, shift into second to third and snap :eek: ,. It does not move in forward or reverse but will stay in park with no vehicle movement. Who's got the billets the cheapest? And do I need all three? What are the chances more internal damage.

Thanks guys, guess I know how I will spend the holiday tomorrow.

Robert.

Very sorry to hear about your transmission. If you need any help with transporting the transmission let me know. I would be happy to come over and pick it up/ and or deliver it if you are having the work done on this side of the hill. Good transmission guy here also. Loma Rica Automotive. 530-742-8980 ask for Ray. Good honest guys. Tell him I said to call.

Thanks Ron,

Still not sure if it will get all three billets or not. I might just take you up on that if my local guy is swamped. Got to have it ready for RPM's dyno. How did the truck turn out (or should I say burn out) since Brad put his magic to it?

Robert

Truck runs fine, but is tuned back to daily driver mode. Let me know if you need transport, you're not that far away.

Ron

Me too Robert! You have options let us know if we can help! Tell your boy I said hi and Brad has got my truck running pretty good ;)

Mine broke two weeks ago. Leaving a stop light under light throttle pressure. First-second and BANG! No go.

Broke the input shaft and pump.

rsaderlund,

I'm sorry to hear about your transmission. :mad:

I broke mine almost two weeks ago. I did get the billet input shaft from Dave Goerend to send along with the trans to the transmission shop. I'm awaiting their tear-down now. :eek:

Keep us informed on your outcome. :-{}

The total bill is still being worked out. The TC was not damaged. The only found damaged parts so far-stock input shaft and pump.

Don,

transmission came out of truck today and will be tore down tomrrow. Input can be spun by hand and it sounds like a ratchet turning. I am thinking new billet and not convinced on flexplate yet. Should all three be billet?

Jeff clean out your PM box. . :p

How often does the intermediate and output go out?

Thanks all.

rsaderlund,

I just got of the phone with Dave. We talked about the very same thing. Dave, my guru on transmission's, said unless you launch at 3,000 , you don't need the rear shaft. But he & I were talking a 500 HP truck.

I will be doing the front & intermediate shafts for sure.

The BEST thing to change is that flex plate for all the torque & horsepower that the engine kicks out. Think of it this way, it was designed for a stock output only. You are going a long way up from there. I call it preventive maintenance You can pay me now or pay me much more later plus a tow bill. It was the first thing I changed.

Best of luck,

Guys,

My trans was done at Dave Goerend's last week. Oo.

I got it to the repair shop, they put it back together on friday. :rolleyes:

It turned out the the shaft was spinning freely due to the fact the drum cracked. #@$%!

I had Dave put in the input & intermediate. The input now comes with a billet drum as well. :p

We put in the new triple disc, added a little more pressure in the shifts & presto-------WE ARE BACK!!!!:D :D :D

I went with the AFT 4 in the deep pan. Now the fun testing in the driveway. The neighbors just love that. :-{}

Bring on those slicks -------NOW !!!!!!!!!

It's in!

Ron-got it back together with Suncoast parts including flexplate. It's ready to go up north to Brad's now. Then hopefully RPM'S :D

Glad to hear it. I'm heading up on friday afternoon to Fortuna. Going to try a couple of things at the dyno on saturday. No event, just some head scratching time. I'll be cruising back through Clearlake again on saturday afternoon. Hopefully with a smile on my face.

I did the same thing on a downshift while towing a 15k load . the shaft and first drum gave up . don't shift down and into lockup together. :D
