Don't do it

So, does anyone have a diesel 1500 yet or have one on order?

Very interesting read. One thing that got my attention;

"The DEF tank holds eight gallons and is sized for approximately 10,000 miles. According to Ram, the DEF system alerts the driver to low DEF levels while also allowing the engine to maintain full power."

I wonder if we could install the 8 gallon DEF tank on our 6.7 powered trucks.

That's an impressive strong built block.

It will be interesting to see how the chains hold up in these engines because driving the injection pump off a chain in 6.2/6.5 GM engines resulted in nearly a 1/2" of stretch in under 30K miles and that is a small 350 pushrod size chain design. Of course this affected valve timing and IP timing. the IP pressures, shock loads, and vibrations stretched the chains out.

Interesting the intended design use. I don't think Cadillac will ever use a diesel after the 5.7 Olds disaster. It wouldn't sell. Even then Cadillac is known for 100K mile throwaway engines so the Cadillac bar is pretty low.

Very impressive design of the crankshaft and integrated oil sump assemble going from four bolt main to six bolts, the turbo seats in valley between the designing of inlet and outlet feeding the turbo. Sure would like exhaust brake like my Cummins there sure not much room for that addition.
