I'm shopping gauges and have seen several people use the Edge Insight, especially on 4th gens.
I like the rear camera option.

Questions:
How well does this work on a 1997 CTD?
Is the only hook-up at the OBDII?
Worth it?

Thanks in advance, this site is awesome (oh wait I'm from Ca. ...like totally awesome dude):-laf

On my 96 not worth it IMO, would still have to add a bunch of external sensors cost would not have the pay back. Dont think major stuff was available till 98.5 for these types of controller.

You might want to just try a smart phone and the Torque App with a bluetooth adapter first and see what you get out of that.

You can get a backup camera a little bit better and less expensive.

The other option is to just call their tech line and they will walk you thru the options and what all is needed, I have heard they have decent support.

If you do find something of value on the parameters keep us posted.

There is a guy selling his edge insight on this site. If you buy used make sure it doesn't have the tuner part as it is vehicle specific for the vehicle that registered it.

I believe the classified ad item is sold, or there is another one somewhere.
Thanks for the input guys, I'm leaning towards some A-pillar gauges but thought if the Edge device was "the bomb",
it may have been the way to go.

I asked the tech's at Edge, what all would be needed on top of the "base" Insight.
After choking on my coffee at the $943  price tag(with Insight), I decided I'll be doing an A-pillar system.

Yep ran into the same deal.

There are options but the fastest way are simple gauges.

There are some good threads on placement and sensors on here just have to dig a bit.
