I just received the MAP adapter for my Edge EZ (module is a 2001 truck is 2002) I have not installed it yet but I really want to. I also have gauges that are going to be installed within the next day or two. Will the EZ alone with the exhaust I have make EGTs high enough to do damage, I won't be towing anything or doing anything stupid with it until the gauges are installed.

Question is: Should I wait to hook it up or go ahead and play?

The EZ dropped my egts by about 100 degrees. At the time I had a 4" exhaust and a K&N filter in the stock airbox (and the Edge boost elbow installed), and I couldn't get temps above 1100 pre. Between the timing advance and the extra boost from the elbow it's a very safe box egt-wise.

Sounds good, I just saw in the instructions that they "Strongly recommend boost and EGT gauges with the box installed. " I don't think I would install it without the boost elbow, without gauges. I guess I'll go hook it up in a few minutes.

Thanks

EZ or Injectors but not both without clutch/trans work is a good rule of thumb to follow. There is some fun to be had between 22 and 32psi of boost, gauges should be mandatory.

Go ahead and install it - I put mine in with no gauges and everything turned out to be fine. I already had the 4" exhaust and Scotty II but after I installed my gauges a month or so after I put the EZ on I saw that I could not make my EGT's go over 900*.

It's not gonna hurt anything to put it in - go have fun.

FWIW, I installed Mach 1. 6 injectors the other day and I still can't make the pyro get over 1150 or so. Toting a good load might make them rise but my cruising temps remain at around 600*.

I also have a stock clutch and it's doing fine if you're worried about that.
