Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) intake kits????

I'm looking at all them and I'm wondering which ones are good. I was thinking of going with the AEM brute force one because it has an oiless filter. or the AFE Whats your opinions?? I want to hear the turbo so the louder the better.

I have seen alot of filter systems & compared them all. I have the volant because I got it cheap, but if I hold my filter up against a afe filter... ... ... the afe is about twice as big as the volant. I would get the afe stage 2 filter, but do research on bhaf... . seems to be the new thing. if planning on alot of upgrades, then make sure you get atleast 1000cfm filter. Thats what I've been told.

Cummins724 is right the AFE filter is huge!! Which is exactly what is needed, the larger the square inches of media the more the flow rate etc. You might do a search on the AEM dry filter some of the Dodge owners that have gotten it have reported a loss of boost PSI as it's restrictive etc.



Get the AFE Stage II with the Pro Guard 7 element and you'll be happy!! It's what we have always reccomended for the Dodges!

I have the AFE Stage 1 on my truck, and boy you can hear that turbo whistle in the cab. I bought my truck used and it already had the AFE on it, so I can't compare it to stock though.

the afe unit will make your truck louder both engine and turbo also the best filter out there IMO. You won't be dissapointed.

I put an AFE Stage II on my truck a few months back, I like it, it is louder but does that really matter?

AFE Stage 1 w/ ProGuard 7 filter & intake tube. Even when the outside is dirty, the inside always looks brand new.
