My fuel pump just failed and im looking for the best option. The truck is gonna stay pretty much stock, what is the easiest fix? where would I locate a intank pump if thats the way to go? Thanks in advance.
The dealer would have the in-tank pump, or you can contact Geno's Garage for a replacement for the fuel-bowl mounted pump since I'm assuming you're referring to your 04?
I installed a FASS a while ago, its been good for well over 100k...
As Steved said but you may want the dealer kit since it will have the stuff to eliminate the canister mounted pump. If you have under 100k it will be covered under the engine warranty with no deductible
At what mileage did your canister pump fail? You might consider replacing the canister pump with a new one from Geno's. It has the advantage of being easy to replace if it goes bad, or replace if you later decide you want to add filtration and go with a frame-mounted pump.
We've changed all our trucks over to the in tank pump... .
We've got a 10 micron primary filter and a 2 micron secondary filter on the frame rail...
On one truck we've got over 200K since the conversion and another truck with over 100K, we're very happy and don't expect to see a problem for the life of the truck... .
