Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Intercooler boots!

I was relocating my breather bottle and noticed the intercooler boot on the driver's side under the washer res. rubbed on the sheet metal and is sliced. Another brilliant engineering marvel? Now what? Are they hard to replace? Does anyone offer these besides DC? Are they under the engine warranty? If so, is it worth having the dealer replace it or am I better off going aftermarket? Thanks.

and bend down the sheet metal or grind it off so you have clearance !!

Very common on 01's. Mine were a shade away from failing. The boot was down to the fabric weave and was leaking. So I bent back the sheet metal and went with a full on set O piers Boooties and all has been good scince.

Loss of power. MPG lower:{ not good could cause higher EGT's too

Thanks for the replys guys. Those boots made me so mad, that now I'm teetering on the precipice of 3rd generation world! Or that was just the excuse I needed!

Bend the metal and get silicone boots, they last as long as the engine.
