It's not. I have a third gen at work. It doesn't use clips at all. It uses a design I wish I had thought of and patented. On a third gen, remove the screws and knobs. While pushing in toward the door metal, slide the door panel up. That's it. It'll come off.
The third gen uses rectangular slots in the sheet metal, and L-shaped protrusions on the plastic. It's so obvious that it's scary. Not only is it simple to remove (with less damage), it would save several seconds per door on the assembly line.
