I just returned from a round trip with the fifth wheel from GA to TX and back and had two occasions where the A/C quit blowing cold. :-{}

On both occasions I found by turning the control off and then back on it restored cold air. ;)

The first time it happened while on the road for several hours when it just quit blowing cold. The second time it was after the truck had been parked all day (in a 105* parking lot @ Sea World San Antonio) and it wouldn't turn on until I turned it on and off several times. Oo.

Anyone with any hypothesis on the problem would be appreciated.

Does the fan quit blowing or it just quits cooling? I had similar problem with mine, it turned out to be a corroded connection at the blower motor resistor plug connecter. bg

You really need to look at a few things while it is now working. Is the compressor engaged,is the blower still spinning,if the blower is still spinning do you have airflow

One other thing if you can stop when it quits and check to see if the cooling fan is engaged. The computer turns on the fan when the compressor is engaged at lower speeds. If the fan is not on when you stop or are going slow the AC compressor could trip the high pressure switch which will turn off the compressor until you cycle the ignition.

The connector on the high pressure switch is a known issue. When it quits cooling, check to see if the compressor clutch is engaged. If not, try wiggling the wiring going into the connector on the switch. If the clutch engages, I'd replace the connector.

I am getting ready to sell my truck and i don't want to leave someone else hanging with this issue especially in south GA.

Is there any other cause with this issue as i am currently having the same problem and my freon levels are good. I heard from someone that there is an issue with a relay in the dash that could be causing this issue. any help is greatly appreciated!!!!
