I have the stock single disc CD/AM/FM radio and am tired of static with the Ipod tuner that I have. Is there any way of connecting the Ipod directly to the radio to eliminate the static? I searched the archives, most involved the CD changer which I don't have.

Not sure if the stock radios have an AUX input in the back, but if they do I am sure you could find a cord that would fit both the output of the IPOD and the input on the radio.

I have my Sirius run this way, but I have an after market radio with a couple of AUX inputs on the back.

Browse Crutchfields and other like websites and I am sure if it can be done you will find it there. ALso Crutchfields has a spot where u can ask questions abuot car audio etc, I'm sure they could help too.

Hope this helps

The factory radios for our generation of trucks do not have any provisions for an aux input. There are kits to tap into the satellite line-in for the later trucks (if there's no satellite radio installed), but that won't do anything for us. RF is the only option in your case, unless you want to change out the factory head unit.

I really want to get away from the RF connection, thanks for your inout PC12Driver. I'll start cecking for an aftermarket radio, maybe it's time to add HD radio.

Check out Kenwood they have head units that can control your IPOD w/the IPOD is in the glove compartment. Put one in mine about a month ago not hard to do.

I also have an aftermarket Kenwood. The problem I have with it is, it is very hard to control the iPod through the deck and once it's plugged in, you can't control it from the iPod itself. IMO it only works well if you just put it on random and let it play. BTW the model I have is an excelon KDC-X789.

Also, the link I posted up earlier for the FM Modulator works pretty well. The doesn't use a transmitter like most do, it connects directly to the FM antenna in the back of your radio. Then the antenna plugs into this device. When turned on, it blocks the signal from the antenna and puts in it's own signal. That way you don't get any interference because it's a direct connection.
