This is a picture of my #4 cylinders valves. 105k on it, and zero problems with the top end. (Head is off due to other work).

One of the valves has a whitish look. the only valve on the whole head that looks like this. Anyone know what it is? And if it is a problem?

A lot cheaper to have him fix it when the head is on a bench already...

Thanks!

Cheap insurance to relap the valve while you have it off.

On another note, it's kinda risky pulling the head and leaving the injectors in like that. All it takes is someone walking by to bump it, knock it flat, and ruin six injectors.

So you are just talking cleaning it up, and using a little lapping compound? Cool. That will be minimum labor. And It has it's own bench, and was only tipped up like that for me to check out and photograph. I may be tweaked with Chrysler, but the dealer and my wrench are real cool.

So what is the white stuff? anyone know?

Upon further reading, this appears to be an intake valve. Now I am confused.

Could it have been from the fact it ran real rough and shutdown when the #5 conrod bearing ate itself? I can see an exhaust valve running hot, but does that apply to an intake valve? I don't know enough about my motor, that's for sure.
