Best Year to BOMB?

There is a 1958 Dodge W300 Power Wagon being advertised with a DIESEL engine. Ad says the factory only made 194 of these oil burners. Fact or fiction? Anyone know?

Maybe, THAT was the first generation... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... .

Let me guess you saw it in the Truck Trader . I think there is a article on that web site that is for the 1970's on back Dodge Trucks . I can not remember the web site but it has been posted here on the TDR before . I have it wrote down in a little black book but I do not have it with me . I think if I remember right it is a Perkins Diesel Motor.

Dodge has offered both the Perkins and Mitsubishi diesels in pick up trucks. I once owned one of the Mitsubisihi engines that I bought from a junked truck and have seen the Perkins in a couple of Dodges, but I don't think either was offered before the 70's.

Chrysler had a deal with Nissan years ago to offer the Nissan diesel as part of the Chrysler marine and industrial engine line. I remember seeing one on display at a Chrysler industrial dealers store.

It is entirely possible that there were some experimental installations done in the years before they were offered for sale.
