This is my first service on this engine and granted I went on guessing wich I dont usually do but was pretty sure of myself. From my best memory my previous Dodge trucks the oil fill was 12 quats for the engine and filter combined.
Well, I'm running the FS2500 and a PacBrake remote filter mount. When on the 6. 0 Leaker I added 1. 5 quarts for the FS2500 and estimated no more than . 5 quarts for the remote filter kit. My basic math said this was 14 quarts.
So I poured 3 gal jugs and two 1 quarts into it. After letting it idle to bring the pressure up plus a couple of minuets I checked. The oil on the dipstick stoped right in the middle of the 'safe' area there was a small break and a small 3/4" oil line above that. So I added a little more and now it's a sold mark way up the dip stick. Hmmmm.
Do I sound way off? It's an '05 CR motor.
